Speaking from the Sidelines
By Onyo Mamas Couch
Have you ever had to sleep in someone's closet because they told you
their husband got off at a different time but didn't? So you are forced
to be up all night bones crunching because any wrong move could
alert them of the situation at hand? Fighting is typically out of the
question when found in someone else’s house. They have all the
leverage and weapons. Not the ideal situation to be in but playing from
the sidelines often leaves one in these predicaments. Have you ever
been someone’s cousin, brother or nephew?
To be on call like a gigolo rather it be for sex or conversation. Putting
pride to the side for the sake of their happiness and pleasure. To
understand and to learn. Experience is a great teacher, but sometimes
someone else’s experience is good enough. This a journey from the
sidelines. To learn how the minds of people work. To know what it
takes to make the significant other see the reason why some things
have to be the way they are. Come join me on the sidelines.
Chapter 1
I often hear how men have the utmost respect and love for their
women, but treat them wrong. And regardless of seeing and knowing
these wrong doings. These women stay and it always baffles me. This
is where I would often come in. Before the whole side nigga
thing
was out there I held that position to the best and was very secretive.
You wouldn’t be able to know even if you saw me coming out of your
wife’s or girlfriend’s house at 2am.
That’s how great I was, and I admired my position. No strings, no
commitment and to make a woman smile through all her hardship was
enough for me. Not to forget all the perks of it all.To be honest I never
knew what a side guy was. It all started with a little hot thang when I
was 19. She was an elegant and adorable woman. Definitely someone
worth wifing up.
You see as I was growing up I would see the guys in my family with
loads of women, mistreating them, cheating on them and everything
above. To be serious at first I thought that was how women wanted to
be treated. As I got older and older it all got worse. My friends would
disrespect their girlfriends and they would stay, and this was high
school we were talking about. Where I would think they were young
enough to not know better but had influence in their lives to show
them that’s not the way. I didn’t know whether it’s bad parenting or the
environment they were raised in. Either way I figured that they enjoyed
being mistreated.
I guess the way they got treated in public and behind doors were totally
different. Love is an incalculable equation that truly has no right or
wrong answer. I could never badly treat a woman. I was kind of known
as the nice guy
. Make no mistake though, just because I don’t
mistreat women, does not mean I’m nice or a sucker. I never could get
the girls I considered but to be honest I never really tried. As high
school progressed on I thought maybe I should be a bad guy and start
treating girls like these other guys, I never did.
Chapter 2
I kept true to myself and for that, you have this book to read and my
journey to enjoy. Hopefully people learn from this book, both men and
women. I’m sharing my
