Mr Winky Goes to Melbourne - S. Jane HIll
Praise for Mr Winky Goes to Melbourne
Mr Winky Goes to Melbourne Volume One explores in greater detail, the turmoil felt by the author in the continuing journey of transition. It is an informative, poignant, and often humorous novel written from the heart. You feel like you’re sitting with Susan, having a cuppa, as she shares her intimate story with us, the reader. I’m so looking forward to the next instalment in the Chrysalis Trilogy.
Sandy Barr
A sequel that doesn’t disappoint. Susan delivers the journey of finding her true self against overwhelming odds. An, at times, heartbreaking story told with honesty and Susan’s brand of humour. I am left wanting more. Brilliant.
Mark O’Neill
Awesome stuff! I love this addition to Susan’s journey and can’t wait to see where life leads her next. I have to admit that I love the insertions of humour, as that shows that this kind of journey isn’t all about pain and stress. The conversations with herself are a good way to show the struggles so many trans people have to face while growing up.
Serena O’Brien
The sequel is well written. I love how it jumps from point to point through the timeline of her life, and the conversations with herself reveal deeper parts of her struggles. It gives me insight into what it is like to be transgender, and the struggles that are faced every day. As someone who is a cis woman, this helped me to understand what it might be like to need to receive the right hormones for my gender. It also helped me to gain some idea what it might be like to not have my body matching who I am at such a fundamental level. Also, the puns and little digs were very funny. There were most definitely some parts that made me tear up, and I very much enjoyed reading this book.
Tyla Harding
This book gives you a rollercoaster of emotions whilst showing you that with enough courage and bravery you can follow your dreams, like this inspirational lady.

Notes
I’m writing a new part of my story. Something so new, and untouched by all the chapters before. I deserve new. I deserve surprises. I’ve outgrown my storyline of old. And so let life be fresh, because I am ready for a new adventure.

I’m no longer who I was. I’m not yet who I’m becoming.

Chapter One
Same Day, Different Shit
Well, not a hell of a lot has happened since the end of My Life Inside the Chrysalis¹ but what has happened is part of a transitional survival kit
for those who are finding it a bit tough as you progress through your transition. I shall, therefore, impart my experiences so far. Apart from the usual daily routine of getting up (always fun…), preparing myself to go out into the world, and fitting into my new body, my hormones have been performing their lovely impression of a rollercoaster from hell. It’s the seventh of July 2021, and I have an appointment on the twentieth with my endocrinologist to try to bring things on this front under some kind of control.
My general practitioner, who is (very welcomely, I might add), in close contact with my endocrinologist, Dr Stuart Aiken—he prescribes my hormones and keeps an eye on my overall health in relation to my transition—and I both think that one possibility may be that my body has started producing its own estrogen. Bitchin’, but not fun. You see, when you start HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), any number of things may be experienced. Most experiences will be normal for the duration of the HRT, but sometimes, in some cases, they are not. And I am not your out of the box
(no pun intended), transgender person. So, what I will impart to you now, hopefully, will serve as a guide, a form of help, maybe, in case things go pear-shaped.
Before I go too far, I must explain the title of my book. Mr Winky is the pet-name that I have for my long-time companion and unfortunate appendage between my legs. The place, in Australia, where I’m going to have my gender reassignment procedure, is Melbourne in Victoria. The book is split into two volumes because I still don’t yet have the tens of thousands of dollars needed to acquire my designer vagina.
This volume is the lead up to this final step in my transition. The second Mr Winky volume will recount my experience, in graphic detail, of the countdown to that wonderful day, through the healing process, including how my life has changed.
Okay. Now that I’ve explained all that, I shall continue with the experiences I’ve had so far with HRT, along with some musings and memories.
In the beginning, for me, hormone therapy was quite a unique and often euphoric experience. I began to think differently, feel differently. My body began to reshape. I was more sensitive in all senses and developed a new one—female intuition. My voice began to change. In short, I was feminising. After a short time, I (with the help of my endocrinologist), found my sweet spot
with my hormone levels and gradually became used to an entirely new life. I also started my period cycles too. I don’t bleed, of course, but my body thought, or thinks, it
