Before you reach the menopause, it can feel like a tsunami coming your way. You don’t know quite when it will hit, what it will throw at you – or what it will leave in its wake. At least, that’s the narrative that many of us sign up to.

But it doesn’t have to be all bad – or all about hot flushes and mood swings. With increasing understanding around menopausal changes, we’re finally starting to learn that the positives really can outweigh the negatives, if we let them.

Even a sense that we’re slowing down can be used to our advantage, allowing us to look at life from a fresh perspective. And this shift in attitude can open up a creative and empowering time in a woman’s life.
