The Lonely Bar - Jared Reed

    The Reminisce

    Dancing Dreams

    Thought after thought

    Memory after memory

    Viciously circling in mind

    Revising events from the past

    Or soon for the future

I feel these thoughts in my closed eyes

    More than in my head

    Will comfort me

While slowly drifting off in this bed

    When the loneliness grows

    People will fall for anyone

    For anything

And claim it to be destined

All starting with a simple hello

But once the loneliness is gone

    People will part ways

And act like their time spent

    Was nothing more

    Than time wasted

    Heart struck

    Your lavish silk purple bow

    Caught my eye

It held your beautiful wavy brown hair

    Who even knew?

A simple accessory would have my full attention

    On you

Focusing from the top of your head

Then soon down to your face

I was struck instantly with fear

    Attempting to compliment

    Your stunning sparkling eyes

    Quickly transitioned into frustration

    Because of this woman

    My drunken wandering thoughts

Forget to open the door for her

    That I blocked

    Excuse yourself Mister she spoke

    Frantically I step aside

For the princess to open her own door

    Today was the most

    I’ve ever talked in awhile

    Giving you a ‘Good Evening"

    While lighting a cigarette

Leading to her asking for one

    Without hesitance we exchanged

    I give her a drag

And she gives me a conversate

"You are a lifesaver. Stress is
