Babe, I’m home!

Carina could hear the TV on in the living room, but no one answered. She put her purse down on the end table by the door and walked around the corner to the living room, but no one was there. She could hear rustling in the kitchen, so she walked down the hall to investigate. The refrigerator door was wide-open.

Her husband’s black-haired head poked out from around the refrigerator door. Oh...hey.

Carina sighed. No welcome home? No dinner being made?
