You may be asking yourself, What is an inner goddess?
Throughout this journey, when I reference your Inner Goddess,
I am referring to the innate feminine essence that is within us. That powerful, sexy, sultry, motherly, thoughtful, intuitive, and wise energy.
Too often, society diminishes our feminine essence and tries to dictate what the feminine experience should be based on inappropriate, outdated, and biased norms. This has quite literally been the story of our lives for centuries. We’ve been told what we should feel. How we should act. What we should wear.
Screw that!
It is time for us as women to reclaim our power and define femininity on our terms!
My goal throughout this entire series is to take you through a powerful journey to rediscover that which may have been lost, reconditioned, pushed aside, or ignored. That is, your authentic Inner Goddess.
So, if it suits you, grab a cup of your favorite tea, the fuzziest blanket you own, some of those overpriced health food store snacks, and get comfortable. It’s time to ignite our Inner Goddess!
SMALL BITE-SIZED PIECES, PLEASE!
You’ll likely notice very quickly that this entire Ignite Your Inner Goddess series has been intentionally laid out in small, bite-sized pieces. Not only do I think humans as a whole have migrated to generally have the attention span of a fly (hello, social media!) but this book and entire series is full to the brim with an abundance of information and learning opportunities.
The cup of knowledge will definitely runneth over!
Plus, I believe in healing in small bites.
In my experience, the best way to learn, retain, and integrate is by taking small bites at one time, making sure to sip and savor and taking time to digest it! Ultimately, this is why I felt called to break up all the juicy morsels of information into smaller bits.
And yes, that literally is the end of this section. Like I said, small pieces!
THE JOYS OF JOURNALING
Consider this book your new diary that will guide you on an experiential journey.
I heard that groan from the back!
I get it. There can be a lot of resistance to the word journal.
But there’s also a lot of power and healing in the act of writing.
PS: Journaling is just that—writing. And by writing,
what I really mean here is putting things onto a page, like a word, paragraph, picture collage, or painting. Yes, even that doodle of a flower you’d mastered during that boring math class in high school rather than jotting down equations totally counts!

Anyway, I say that because sometimes I feel like journaling
has a lot of expectations around it, which can create immediate resistance to whipping out a notepad (or the notes app on your phone) and jotting down whatever comes from the heart.
Yes, there are certainly some journaling exercises that may prompt a written response. But if writing isn’t your thing, then why try to force yourself to do it? Why not print out pictures and paste them as your journal answer in visual representation? Or dance, sing, paint, draw, etc. your answer into reality instead?
Either way you prefer to journal, I believe you’ll reap the benefits. And I’d wager there’s a lot of science-backed research (and copious blog posts) outlining the benefits of journaling.
Feel free to whip up an internet browser and scroll through.
I will say that, in my experience, journaling is an extremely potent tool that can significantly boost transformation in all areas of your life. It can help you heal through situations or emotions. It can help analyze or organize your thoughts. It can serve as powerful positive reminders of just how much progress or transformation you have made. It can help you recall memories. It can serve as a creative outlet. It can accelerate your ability to manifest goals. It can provide clarity. It can help to solidify your understanding when learning something new and retain it.
Something one of my soul sisters said to me once was, "Writing is spell casting. You’re literally spell-ing the words onto the page and into reality."
Talk about a mic drop moment for my storytelling heart.
And I believe this is another powerful healing aspect of journaling. You’re bringing the concept inside your mind into a more physical and tangible reality. You’re expressing your thoughts and emotions, perhaps in a way you haven’t been able to before. You’re speaking your truth. You’re honoring exactly where you are at that moment in time without judgment.
So, recap, there will be many places along this Ignite Your Inner Goddess journey to journal. I know it may be tempting to skip journaling—and the choice is, of course, yours to do so or not! However, trust that the journal prompts are a part of the journey for a reason.

POWER IN THE PAUSE
Rest and integration.
Two words my fiery Sagittarius sister likely hates more than anything else in the world.
Fire signs aside, much of our society and culture is about being like the Energizer Bunny, who is always on the go. It’s become this mentality where resting means you fall behind, are unsuccessful, unproductive, and weak. It’s a very masculine
kind of energy, which absolutely serves us.
But where’s the balance?
Have you ever felt guilty for turning down a friend’s invitation to something so you could just stay at home and do nothing but rest?
