I never know where to begin…hopefully I’ll know where to end.

I just washed my hair, which takes forever. The relaxer

was wearing off and it was hot in the afternoon. I put too much leave-in conditioner and after three hours of work, my hair looked stiff. Of course this happens! I wanted to go to Los Angeles to celebrate the evening of Halloween with friends, at a cabin in Big Bear, but time, work, and money were just too big of obstacles to get me down there.

I decided I would dress as Dion from Clueless this year. An easy fix with no costume preparation. I had this really cute tweed jacket picked out with a tube top in the same material. It looked like it could be Chanel. I also had this huge pink REAL Chanel purse to go with it that absolutely was the epitome of come on barbie let’s go party! I decided to use a small gold hoop earring as a fake nose piercing and completed the look with jeans and these cute Yeezy sandals that I always receive compliments on whenever I slide them on. Everyone is shocked by the fact that perhaps Kanye himself made such a sophisticated shoe. I don’t know what for…. With the whole look complete, I was very happy with it. I looked hot and I was a little excited for tonight because a friend from high school, Oliver, told our friend group that he opened up a café.

Although, at this time, and maybe after this time, we were in the middle of a pandemic, I mean I didn’t care anymore. I was living at home, but my mom already caught covid and she was fine. I never did, but I also never got tested at the time. I tried to be cautious, but we were mostly going to hang outside anyways and it was freaking Halloween. I have been couped up long enough and I needed to blow off some steam. I decided to leave by around 7:30 p.m., but probably didn’t get there until two hours later. I’m always usually late for evening events, because hello, I got to do my hair?!

Anyways, Oliver, is pretty fucking hot and I was juiced just to flirt a bit. He has all the swag and all the height. My friend Marissa was going to be there with her boo John, and the rest, I wasn’t too sure about. I was hoping to see and meet some new faces. Anyways, I eat a light meal fast and say goodbye to my mom, Sonia, who confirms she approves of the outfit. I generously spray copious amounts of my favorite perfume that I carefully selected when I lived in Italy and head out in my Mini Cooper Countryman. It was dark out by the time I leave and the café is located in the semi-hood. It is in the maybe gentrified area of Oakland within the next ten years type of place. Houses are listed starting at $899,000 but still. I felt safe because I’m from Oakland. If anything happens to you, it’s usually just a wrong place, wrong time type of thing, you know?

As I park the car, I see some guys having a party next door and get a little confused as to where the café is. I check GPS and see there is an entrance on the
