    Introduction

God gave this 40-day devotional to help everyone who encounters it to embrace their wilderness experiences. He releases four tools to help you thrive and succeed while navigating the wilderness. These daily devotions include scripture from God's word, wisdom, hope, encouragement, and prayer. Read on, sister, set your mind, set your space, and set your focus as you embark on this journey.

    Day 1

All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

What better way to start day one of a devotional than in truth? We are going directly to the source to understand how to survive and thrive during our wilderness experience. I believe that the Word speaks for itself, and it doesn't need any justification, but not everyone understands it right away, so it takes some time and some growth to receive when you read, and that's the reason for devotionals. You get someone else's perspective and revelation prayerfully to ignite some of your own. For the next ten days, we will focus on the "WORD" of God and how this tool is so essential for any experience we encounter in life.

We are all inspired by something or someone, and that inspiration motivates us. In some cases, we are inspired to lose weight, dress a certain way, accomplish a goal, buy a house, or even start a new business. The inspiration that we feel puts us in a specific headspace. It begins to change the way we are accustomed to doing things because there is something new we want to attain. Today's scripture tells us that God inspired all scripture. When we go through tough times: marriage isn't working, finances don't seem to be adding up, depression overwhelms us, failure traps us, or whatever your trial(s) may be, how do we respond? Many of us become discouraged, we start drowning in doubt, and then we start reaching out to people who cannot give us what we need during that time. While there are not too many people we should follow or take advice from in the Wilderness, God is that dependable source. And the instructions and directions we need to navigate those times are found in His Word. But the truth of the matter is if you don't know what His Word says, you can't be inspired or motivated to survive or thrive during that time. The fact that you are reading this now indicates that God is trying to meet you. He's trying to give you one of His most precious tools. A tool that will teach you right from wrong and correct what is wrong. It's the most significant piece of equipment needed in the Wilderness because it has so many secret treasures, hidden jewels, and gems. It has the answers to any questions you may have; it is the foundation for every part of your life, and it builds you and keeps you strong. So today, I want to encourage you to intentionally decide to let the Word inspire you during this wilderness experience.

    Dear God

I thank You for an opportunity to be exposed to Your Word. Thank You for Your timing; that is so right. God, You know what I need and when I need it, and I'm grateful to have You during this time in my life. God forgive me for not seeking You more through Your Word. I want to get to know You more, grow in relationship with You and increase my dependency on You. You deserve it all, and I no longer wish to travel alone. With You, all things are possible, and I can do nothing apart from You. So, here I am, ready to receive Your Word in Jesus' Name Amen.

    Day 2

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Joshua 1:8 NLT

As you continue to seek God for this season of your life and you dig deeper into His Word, you must know and understand that you have to do work as well. Yes, you serve a mighty God who specializes in the impossible, but it's up to you to do what is possible. In the Word, you are given instructions to live by, and these instructions aren't limited to one situation. God knows we are all different and will travel individual journeys, which means our wilderness experience won't be the same. That said, whatever you may be experiencing, or unsure about, there are a set of instructions in the Word that you can reference. In this world, we are motivated or discouraged when it comes to success because it's what's put before us. Without even knowing it, we have a habit of studying the wrong things. To study means you devote time and attention to acquiring knowledge. Watching the entertainment industry inspires us to have the success we aspire to attain, and these days the people closest to us post what appears to be their success on social media. These are the things we are studying. We are meditating on the wrong things; it's keeping us in the Wilderness and away from our promised land. You must meditate on what God says about your life and what He asks you to do because your obedience is linked to your success and prosperity. But again, you can't obey what you aren't instructed to follow. I think about my kids or even me as a child. I was always taught that obedience is better than sacrifice (that's Word), and I now teach my kids this principle. But my kids can't obey what I don't instruct. I can't expect them to keep their room clean if I never tell them to clean it or if I've never shown them how to clean it.

You have to change what you are meditating on now. Let's be intentional these next few days and stop meditating on what isn't beneficial to our success. Double tapping or sharing others' success via social media (no shade), watching the latest reality TV show, or listening to gossip or negativity doesn't add to your life; it truly takes away from it. See, in the world we live in, no one highlights the bad times, their failures, their accounts when they are in the red, or their darkest moments because it's doesn't show success. Instead, try meditating on the Word of God. It is filled with instructions on how to live. There are examples throughout the Bible of reality that you can learn what to do and not do, and that's the true key to success.

    Dear God

I thank You for another day to be in Your presence. I thank You for Your grace and mercy that's available and new for me every day. Today I
