    About the Author

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

My first book (Poems of Sorts) dealt with thoughts we all have had in Poem format. Some rhymed, most did not because rhyming is hard and I believed - still do – that the thoughts were what counted most. Plus the poem format is easier to see the beginning, middle and ending. But all poems should be spoken aloud as they are easier to understand when spoken.

Many of the poems or thoughts In Poems of Sorts were actually true stories that had some humor in them. Yes, many were completely made up. You should be able to tell. It’s called being creative.

The same people who encouraged me the most remain: the late Ron Barry (English Teacher in Syosset High); Niece Krystyn (Rutzel) Serrano; Annita-Tex (Harless) Sours; John Delin, my Captain from the Safety Patrol back in the day; and the late Bob Thomas writer of Golf Book Stories who was a wealth of knowledge regarding writing books; and also Kat DeMille, who gave insightful reviews on the draft of Poems of Sorts and in here too.

After Poems of Sorts I had newer encouragements: my aunt Doris Rogalski; my brother Larry Rutzel; and good friend Marilyn Soloman; and Mary Joan Corcoran, who is always supportive and gives good advice; and Dave Schartung who made several suggestions that were taken. All have asked when the next book was coming out as they really enjoyed Poems of Sorts.

Anyway thank you one and all.
