Kish Andes
Born in Hattiesburg, MS, Krishuana Anderson, also known as Kish Andes, set out on her journey to perfect her craft, writing her first poem at the age of nine. Inspired by the death of her great grandfather, seeing the pain in her Nana's eyes, she became immediately aware of the power of love and the pain of loss. Very early, she began to question everything about life as it relates to the subject, which lead to what she now realizes is her greatest passion - understanding the intricacies of heart matters. The name, Kish, was given to her by one of her close friends that she frequently collaborated with while studying and performing in London. Kish has participated in many open mic events in all the places she frequents and love. Whether it's her written poetic language, rapping or acting, the artistic platform her work has both developed and promoted from is to be the "Voice of the Misunderstood". Life can be unforgiving; but, the active principles of Love possess a transformative power greater than anything she's ever experienced or studied. So, she remains constantly inspired and motivated to provide representation to the stories and voices that are so often just like hers...simply misunderstood.

Acknowledgements
Giving honor to God from whom all good orderly direction flows... I'd like to thank my childhood church for pouring into me all that you could on the teachings of faith, love, and forgiveness. I am, as we all are, a continuing Wip or Work in Progress. It seems the work is never done and always under improvement.
To my family (Gipson/Comer's and Anderson/Smith's), both ends are too large to place individual names of everyone; but, none of you are forgotten. I love you completely. Thank you for being incredible examples – both by sunrise and nightfall – of how a family that prays together...stays together.
To all the environments in which I was gifted the opportunity to be molded by, thank you for the experiences and lessons.
To my mother Alice Onebo, thank you for life, and your support through all my changes. You are a pillar of strength and my solid rock.
To my Father David Comer, thank you for passing the teachings. If we can just help somebody…our lives won't be in vain. And to my lovely second mother and mentor, Brenda Comer, I can't express enough my gratitude for you. You pushed me to face my fears and supported me every step of the way. No mountain was high enough. You are a winner!
To my Earth first family, thank you for being a part of my life and showing me what it really means to make it against all odds.
To the members of Mosque 15 who sowed into my journey, I am eternally grateful for the wisdom imparted.
Special thanks to the design team, publishers, distributors, editors, and everyone who has journeyed to love me as I have journeyed to love you. There's always another way, but look what we can do together.
Last, but certainly not least... I'd like to thank each and every one of you holding this book. I hope you are encouraged, renewed, and entertained by the words that await you. If you've ever lost your fire and zest to pain and confusion, you know what it means to reconnect with your passion – even when they said you couldn't do it…even when you doubted yourself…even as trials come and the rain continues to pour when all you're fighting for is peace and a smile. Don't ever give up. This race is for you! This one is for US!
Dedications
This book is dedicated to all the lives lost, bruised, and affected by unnecessary violence and crimes of passion. To the Lovers, Artists, Activists, Students, Officials, and Organizers who require strength on their journey fighting for more than worthy causes, I love you.
I offer you a piece of my heart, the audacity to believe we, too, can create change, and the confidence to know your effort and your life is NOT in vain. Weeping may endure for a night..But Joy.
