Most people would agree that filling in forms, particularly job application forms (including the paper variety), is one of the most boring and tedious chores going. So, it is hardly surprising that a high percentage of job application forms are completed in a rush, often after much procrastination. Not only that, but the space restrictions on the forms may also make it nigh on impossible for applicants to do full justice to their qualifications and experience. And if they attempt to do so, they usually resort to measures that render the content illegible (when handwritten) or incomprehensible. Online application forms pose yet another problem when the threat of timing out is all too present.
