Cathy woke up in Sam’s arms, relieved the past few weeks of sadness were finally over. Once again she was the cheerful smiling nurse everyone remembered. Sam, being a doctor was happy to have her back in his life and working together in Hampton Hospital.

Ray Taylor had been arrested at the scene of an accident. Charged with, driving without tax and insurance, driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol; causing the death of an elderly man. He wasn’t allowed bail. His lawyer, Alan Flint, refused to take on a case he didn’t believe he could win.

Cathy Stewart received a text from Ray saying, SORRY!

She still lives in Steve Taylor’s apartment. Diagnosed with cancer, he’d signed it over to her. He then wrote a will, leaving his brother Ray half of the sale price. Cathy wouldn’t have considered selling, but now has to split the money with Ray. Who will probably spend the rest of his life behind bars?

When Ray was evicted from his flat, Steve allowed him to move into their spare room without consulting Cathy.

Steve’s death had been so sudden; she suspected Ray had somehow ended his brother’s life, believing the apartment would be his.

Ray’s previous court case and the final incident over the car had shown his aggressive side; the memory of Ray’s unwanted passionate kiss and words of love, moments before she discovered Steve’s body, was hard for her to forgive.

He had been in trouble most of his life, and on the day of his court case against Mandy Davies, he showed his vulnerability
