PREFACE

Technology in many work and school programs is often a stressor for employees and professionals. Technology Report Writing may serve many purposes in helping to relieve the stress and explain how this technology impacts the school, university or work environments. Technology reports can be used for a multitude of purposes including technology malfunctions and societal problems related to technology. The technology reports can focus on critical thinking skills to encourage questioning as well as creativity skills to encourage technology thinking that is ‘outside the box.’ Practical time management issues as well as goal planning can be addressed in technology reports. Technology reports can be broad focused on using curriculum in connection with current technology. Technology portfolios can also be used as a writing tool to explore collaboration, problem solving and self-exploration on technology topics. Technology Report Writing opens the door for practical technology issues to be included in report writing.

PROLOGUE

Technology Report Writing is focused on some ways to simplify report writing on sometimes complex and difficult technology concepts. The book is filled with examples, obstacles and topics on technology issues that can be written in reports. As well as technology problems, reports can also address future technology challenges and analyze different angles of how a technology problem could be addressed. Skills can be included in technology reports to reflect addressing procedures, making modifications and proposing experiments. Practitioner skills that link technology to day to day work issues can be addressed in reports. Certainly technology reports can explore questions and strategies that need to be addressed or explained further. Ideas for writing technology curriculum are included in the book to explore multiple subject areas. Written technology components that could be included in technology portfolios are provided as examples in the book. Technology Report Writing covers a broad range of technology topics that could be focused into writing effective technology reports.

I would like to thank the educational professionals who have helped me transform into the technology focused world. It was a struggle for me at first and even though there was some resistance, I learned there was a quicker and totally different way to write a report that includes technology components.

I would also like to thank my beautiful family for their unbending support for my writing career. My husband has always contributed to my technology learning experience and keeping me ‘updated’ when new program versions have arrived. My daughters have also contributed to the family technology experience by helping solve a major problem with just a click of a button or an easy computer solution.
