    INTRODUCTION

Welcome, bride babes! For those who don’t know me yet, my name is Hope and I am the creator of Broke Bitch Thrift (www.BrokeBitchThrift.com), which is a blog dedicated to finding ways to live a luxurious life at half the price. I’ve worked most of my life in retail sales settings, I owned a business, and now I’m a broke college student pining for her law degree. I know every sales trick in the book. I knew how to make money, and I made a lot of it for other people. Now, I’m committed to doing that for myself, by myself. That’s where my writing comes in.

So, what’s the reason for the wedding themed eBook?

Iliza Shlesinger said it best in her stand-up comedy special Unveiled (which can be found on Netflix, and I recommend watching it especially if you’re balls deep in wedding plans right now). Totally omniscient, you know everything. You do it once, you come out the other end, you know everything about weddings, every detail. The problem is nobody wants your shitty wedding advice.

I got married in September of 2021. I can speak to the fact that I now know every detail regarding wedding planning – and seeing as my husband & I had to pay for everything ourselves, I had to DIY A LOT of stuff, heavy research was done to figure out ways to cut corners, and all this information is now just floating around in my brain with nowhere to go.

While it may appear that most people don’t want wedding advice, I’ve found that the majority of brides won’t ask for it from other brides, because they want to style the entire thing using their own vision and creativity. Some may not ask due to an underlying competitive nature. Some may not know the right questions to ask to begin with. With Pinterest being the go-to for a lot of brides-to-be when it comes to wedding inspiration, I’ve found that brides will accept advice from other brides – if they don’t know them personally, and it’s someone who knows
