    Eyedentity - Moses Elisha Johnson

    Acknowledgments

This section could become sappy really quickly. So, to make sure that I don’t make this section the length of the book, I’ll keep this section simple and precise.

To the One God who made this all possible; to whom I owe my life, and who without I can do nothing because all the earth is His and without Him, I can do nothing.

    The earth is the

    Lord

’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.

    Psalm 24:1 (NKJV)

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

    John 15:1–2 (NIV)

This book is also dedicated to my mom, the woman who poured into me with God’s will in mind, ultimately not being able to physically see the fruit in which she had faith of what God told her would produce in me. Thank you for all that you have done. Your heart will forever be remembered by those who loved you.

    ~My mom with my nephew

Thank you to any and all who supported me throughout my life. I love you all very much, more than words could ever express. Know that you all have a special place in my mind and heart. I am grateful for who you are as individuals and for what you’ve been to me. Thank you!

Thank you to all the amazing people in the world who became like a type of support. From the random strangers to those I’ve encountered over time; to social media comments, in-person engagement, direct messages, calls, text messages, etc., you all are loved and have been a blessing to me. So, from my heart to yours, thank you!

Most importantly, to the celebrities of this book and the ones who are close to my heart. To all who may be facing hardships, struggles, and pain, as well as those who are, overall, broken, struggling through, or have dealt with brokenness: know that you are deeply and truly thought of. I pray that this book touches you in the ways that God intended.

    Introduction

He is my Love Letter: Spoken Word

    (Moses Elisha Johnson).

He is everything that words can’t explain. He is beyond a dictionary without words to its name; a tape without measure because even a measuring tape has no way of measuring how great, how great, how great is our God. It is His name that blots out every stumble, sin, and stain. So, I offer up the fruit of my lips to glorify His name so that He is magnified in being the same; God who was, and is, and is to come. The same One who’s been a friend, a father, and a mom. And so much more than words can explain. He is everything that I cannot name with the vowels of I, O, U because I owe You everything! He is the same, the same God yesterday, today, and forevermore. The same God who has the ability to restore. The God who opens and closes every door. The I AM of all time, understanding that He can be any I Am in the time and moments of your needs. For His love supersedes anything in the earth that could possibly be, for you or me. Can’t you see! That He is the name above every other name, the joy in the heartache and the pain, the sunshine in the storms and the rains. He is the same.

The name that even in my trials helps me to say, singing, I won’t complain. I can’t complain because regardless of any strain, He is still good. A good God who knows what’s good and best for the ones He wants nothing less but to give the love and pleasure within Himself, for He is the only One who can satisfy. More than any possible sucks in marijuana high. He is everything that is good, amazing, and true; I cannot deny, nor can He lie because He is everything that I ever needed. The life to my life; He is.

Before we dive in, I would like to present a few things to you concerning this book. There are quite a few symbolic pieces, such as various types of spoken word, written stories, certain scriptural inferences, poems, and certain phrases that sprouted forth while being led by God. If you like those types of things, then great! I hope that you thoroughly enjoy them as we move along. To hear the cadence (live tempo) of all of the spoken word pieces, see pictures, stories, testimonies, songs, highlighted information for your viewing, etc., please refer to any of my social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube). On the other hand, if you don’t like things of that nature, then I hope that you can still find a way to enjoy the book overall (in its entirety), as well as each individual piece (within its proper context). Regardless of how the package is wrapped (the style in which things are presented), it is my hope that you are still able to enjoy what is given, the way that it was intended to be received (the concept, message, or the contents of the message). Now, if there is something that seems unfamiliar, odd, confusing in nature, or just straight-up weird, then I can’t necessarily say that I apologize because the book turned out the way that it did by purposeful happenstance: by God’s grace, faithfulness, and sovereignty. However, if possible, I do want you to understand the context behind everything that has been written in this book. So since I’m not there sitting with you to explain the why’s (like I would want to be) concerning this book, then I would like to make a suggestion, something that I do every day. If there is something that you feel worried about, or if you run into something that is questionable, concerning, conflicting, or confusing in nature, then I would like to point you in the right direction: to the one that I spoke about in my first piece—God (the One). The One God, who is the giver of knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and so much more. The Alpha and Omega; the First and the Last; the Begining and the End.

On the other hand, you will catch just a few photos in this book from what I call my journeys or travels. These are just words used to mention times that I took little or big journeys (short or long distance travels) throughout my big journey after God called me to Himself, in which the intent was to follow a leading of God, time away from people to draw closer to God: just get away with God to fast and/or go deeper in who He is: simply have time to regroup and refocus on God because I’ve taken my eyes off Him (or stopped relying on Him as much), time to myself without the main intent of focusing on God but still drawing close to God, etc. I don’t want the pictures to give the misconception that my entire walk/journey in Christ has been fine and dandy; it hasn’t. I’ve had good and bad days just like you; I have actually been rightfully afflicted or have had types of judgments (by God), as well as have been afflicted by others in various ways throughout my time. However, details won’t be shared in this book for their protection. But my afflictions haven’t gone without much growth, so I’ve become thankful for all of them, whether by God or by people.

See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

    Isaiah 48:10 (NIV)

Note. If you see a scriptural inference such as this, it means that I’ve said something in reference to the meaning of the scripture (whether in reference, relation, context, figurative/literal language).

The pictures of what you will see are the various times within my journey where God and I shared many things (conversations, moments, Him sharing His will, His works, Him helping me to heal, Him just leading me along His path of righteousness). Furthermore, if there are any preconceived ideas concerning me or this book, then I would like to kindly invite you to drop the preconceived notions (good or bad). I want you to leave them at the door because it makes for a better reading experience. Not only will it make for a better read, but expectations can be a quick setup for disappointments. It can also be a barrier to fully engaging the way the author intended for you to when the book was written. If you would like to pick them back up after the read, feel free. Regardless it’s your choice whether you decide to do it/or not. As I said, it’s just an invite. So, I hope that you’re able to enjoy the book for what it is and what it’s meant to be. Alright, my pre-introduction rant is over. Let’s begin, shall we?

Hi! My name is Moses Elisha; first name Moses, middle name Elisha. Pronounced as

    Mo-Zes E-Ly-Shuh

. I would like to share a story with you. Let me tell you about a girl, a broken girl who became whole through a transforming power that superseded anything that she could imagine. Let me tell you about a girl, a girl who’s experienced problems just like you. Let me tell you about a girl, a hurtful girl who also found immeasurable grace that led to freedom. Let me tell you about a girl, an abnormal girl who didn’t understand the deepness of love, peace, safety, joy, or life until she encountered an abnormally loving God. Let me tell you about a girl, a girl who’s committed more sin and has done more deeds than possibly the number of times on a timetable. Let me tell you about a girl, a girl who has experienced more pain than her face ever showed. Let me tell you about a broken girl’s new Eyedentity. But first, let me tell you about the God who gave her newness of life in Him.

    Personal Mottos:

"Be what you desire to see lived out in others (live by example), do unto others (as you would have them do unto you), or be towards others (be kind, be gracious, be loving, be all that you can be with the intentions of doing right by ‘loving thy neighbor’ and pleasing God) regardless of what others do, while living in a way that is upstanding and pleasing to God; not based upon your own or anyone else’s perspectives/views (eyes), but based upon the eyes (perspective) of God. In layman’s terms, don’t be a hypocrite, and do good by others in love (regardless of what they do, and regardless of their actions towards you); not based upon you or anyone’s else’s eyes or views of ‘good’ or ‘love,’ but based upon the eyes/views of God" (Life motto, Moses Elisha).

If God gives the thumbs up, then don’t let any thumbs down have more power (or greater influence, whether in action or belief) over you than the One who gave you the thumbs up. Vise versa, if God gives the thumbs down, then don’t let any thumbs up to have more power (in persuasion or influence in belief) than the One who gave you the thumbs down because obedience to God is considered more glorious in the eyes of God than the praises that can be received in the eyes of man (humanity) (Life motto, Moses Elisha).

    Founding Scriptures:

The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcast of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

    Psalm 147:2–3 (ESV)

    For the

    Lord

takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.

    Psalm 149:4 (NASB)

Jesus answered them, It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

    Luke 5:31–32 (NIV)

    The Real Introduction

The Chapter That Makes All of the Other Chapters Make Sense

The Information Behind All of the Content

The Part That You Really Need to Read

First off, I would like to say that I’m honored that you chose to be here with me today. Maybe you had the opportunity to be somewhere else and do other things, but you didn’t. Because of that, I am forever grateful. So, from me to you, thank you! I hope to handle this opportunity with the quality care that you deserve. You see, although you may or may not know me yet, you’re just that dear to me, and not only to me but especially to God. You are somebody, somebody special, and because of that, I wrote this book just for you. This place within this book is a safe space to come as you are, but I should warn you that there might be a chance that you may not leave as you are. I don’t say this because I think that I’m an amazing author; I say this because God has been faithful in positions that He’s caused me to use my faith. There are many things in my life that have failed me, but God isn’t one of them. So, throughout this process, I am leaning on Him, trusting Him to carry me, show up, catch me, and do whatever He purposed for this book as I follow His lead in writing it to serve His people. This book is about faith, pain, restoration, healing, and many other things, but more than anything, this book is about how the love of God conquers all.

I’ll share with you more about the Pandora’s box of my life in the chapters to come. But first, I want to share a little more concerning topics, concepts, and the overall basis for all the random things that you’re likely to encounter. Throughout this book, you may run into some things that may challenge the current glasses of what I call your Eyedentity (which I’ll define here soon). And not only your Eyedentity but the seeds connected to it, as well as the possible productions derived from it. There may be certain things to address in order for you to see from the perspectives of this book, which is founded in the perspective of God. So, if you’re willing and able to take off your glasses for a while, it will further allow you to understand the book the way in which it was intended. It is my sincere desire for you to obtain as best of a perspective on the things that He’s moved me to share with you. So, by the time that you arrive at the end of my story, it is my hope that I’ve painted an informative picture in relation to God (Who is also). However, because of the overall content of this book (the book as a whole), it might look a little different from the ways that it’s been traditionally presented. So if you haven’t heard the gospel yet, or have experienced anything as it relates to God, then I hope that I do a good enough job at presenting them (everything entailed in this book to help present the gospel, as well as the bigger story/picture). If you happen to be opposed to God in general, then it is my hope that you still give the book a chance because you might just find something in here that speaks to you or helps you. On the other hand, if you came solely or only to hear my story, then you’ll be disappointed because even though the story behind my change may be a good one, He is the only one who gave/gives me the ability to overcome, has the power to change, save, restore, and so much more. He’s not only the reason behind my story, but He’s also the highlight of it.

So, if you’re longing and searching for a something in your life, or came looking for something that can help get you to a place of filling a void, fulfilling a certain need, fulfilling a certain petition that you’ve asked God, or whatever reason you may have come (spiritually or regularly), I want to make sure that you find it, not based on me and/or the various things in this book, but solely based in Christ. This book will start off by laying the foundation with scripture, historical facts, fundamental explanations, etc., but then will release downhill afterwards into more and more of my story. Why? Because my story has quite a bit of information, and every story needs a foundation so that what’s ultimately built stands. And I want to make sure that mine is on top of the most solid rock there is because no one likes a rocky foundation. I want to make sure that I point you to the prize first (Jesus) and the product of the prize—second (me or my story).

So, this is what the Sovereign

    Lord

says: See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.

    Isaiah 28:16 (NIV)

So, if you happen to be tempted to get to the tea (info) of my life, you’ll have to wait. Tea is a term that some may typically use to refer to the information/details in someone’s life (which I call tea on the go). Because you can almost bet that nowadays, if I’m moving in life and up to something (in good ways), I have a cup of tea with me. Here’s a picture from one of my journeys with God:

~I was literally having tea on the go (or on the move), hence why the teacup is on my dashboard. I thought it was quite

relevant, so I snapped a photo to add to the book.

So, if you came looking for the (what is considered the literal and figurative) tea of my life, then you’ll have to wait; we’ll get there, but I would like to encourage you to not play Skip to My Lou past what makes the story, the story (the foundation of Jesus, as well as the important information behind it). Not only will it help you to understand my process or things throughout my journey, but it just makes all of the rest of the story make sense, even down to the spoken word pieces (which you can watch in live tempo on social media outlets), gracefully bringing everything full circle. And as we continue along, you might just discover within yourself that you want or need Him to touch your life in some way for the first time, touch your life in a new way, or even touch your life in an old way (by reestablishing something in you, reawakening your soul’s thirst for Him, reviving the desire to go deeper in knowing Him, or whatever the case may be). You never know what you need until you realize or obtain what you may be lacking. (I know that this was my experience.) So, let’s get to it, shall we?

Right now, we’re going to take a journey through this book because, as you will come to discover, there’s someone (Satan) who’s not only after your salvation but the fulfillment of your life here on earth. And if he can keep you from your destiny, then the world is missing out on something special. Because when your earthly given potential (given by God) connects with your godly given purpose (also given by God), it gives the connection (or alignment) needed to hyperdrive your godly given future (God’s and not the one that we have declared for ourselves). Why do I make this an important point? Because your future is just a production of a given moment within your present, it’s highly important. Not giving too much power to us, but I do want you to understand the importance of how we use the moments that are granted to us; that God has allowed us to have. Everything can change in a moment. It was the case concerning me and my choice of Jesus, and many other choices in my life.

And this is also the case concerning many others, kind of like Abraham in the Bible, Paul (Jesus’ disciple), Martin Luther King, as well as others in or outside of the Bible. While we’re on this topic, I claim that whatever assignment that is keeping you from your God-given destiny is a means to an end. Whether it’s fear, sin, unforgiveness, oppression, negative cycles, or whatever the roadblock may be, I speak to it right now and claim that it has an expiration date. Everything that has been sent on assignment against you, I bind it right now. Your destiny will show forth itself, and God will get His glory in you. It’s temporary and not permanent. It is canceled, uprooted, broken, blocked, and deleted, in Jesus’ name, amen. Okay, moment over. Back to the topic at hand.

So, I want to be honest with you; your journey will look different at times. I’m not sure if your journey has previously started, will happen throughout your time reading the book, or will occur at some point upon closing it. Whenever or however it happens, I pray that your journey is just as life-changing as the one that I had (and continue to have) as I grow in knowing the One in whom this book speaks of on various occasions. The One who helped me to begin my journey and who has kept me the entire way. The One named Jesus. The One who has forever changed me in every sense. The One who I owe my entire life to: not for what He’s done, but because of who He is, and out of servitude and desire to worship Him in a way that glorifies Him above any and everything. The One in who deserves all the glory, honor, and praise, not just for the things that He’s done, but just for who He is. I’m sharing this book in hopes that some of the things that have been helpful to me will, in turn, be helpful to you. There were times throughout my journey that many things caused me to shift gears. There have been times where I could walk, jog, and run. There were also times where I felt like I had to claw my way through. And then there were times where I couldn’t move at all, where God had to carry me. You see, my friend, there were times where I felt like I could run a 20k marathon trying to make the mark, but there have also been times where all I could do was literally fall to my face and cry out to God in prayer. Whatever the circumstances, and regardless of my pace or posture, God was with me every step (and prayer) of the way. Now, your journey may not be identical to mine or as intense, but I’m sure there will be times where you will find yourself in situations that will not only cause you to change pace (change in stamina, drive, strength, and/or endurance) but to also cause you to change posture. (Whether that’s a change in physical posture from not praying to prayer/more prayer, or just the change of posture concerning your heart’s view of God, and/or obedience to God. Or maybe it turns out to be both.) Regardless of what your journey looks like, there is a destination (personal to your walk with Christ and your life in general) as well as God who is there for you to recognize His position in your life (if you haven’t already). And even if you have recognized it, there’s always room for growth in who God is in general as it relates to us. So, let’s take our own journey together, shall we? One in which will be within this book, but also one that I pray will not stay in it (as you tackle things outside of this book).

So, if you don’t feel like clawing, I encourage you to run. If you don’t feel like running, I encourage you to jog. If you don’t feel like jogging, I encourage you to walk. If you don’t feel like walking, I encourage you to take baby steps. And when you can’t take baby steps, I encourage you to be a baby and trust the One who has the whole world in His hands.

Trust is something that is easily said yet hard to do. Here’s a picture of what trust looks like to me:

I remember being on one of my travels. And while I was in the water with the swans (in which they are exceedingly kind, courteous, timid, and gentle creatures), I remember thinking about their peaceful state within the water. They swim on top of the water, not being able to see the various things that may be below them moment to moment. However, every now and then, if they wanted to, they could stick their head in the water to look (that’s if they wanted), but they didn’t. However, if they did that every second of their lives, they
