Author’s Note

I am honoured to introduce this book to you, on behalf of all the horses who have shared their emotional lives with me. Each story is presented as an interview, whereby the horse character tells us his/her story. I present these insights into the emotions of horses for the benefit of all horses.

Obviously, horses can’t speak our language, but if we listen very carefully, with our eyes, ears and hearts wide open, they do share their thoughts and feelings. Much of what is written is based on what I’ve learned from horses over many years of doing hands-on energy work called Reiki. I have used imagination to fill in the gaps of what is known about their past lives in order to create the characters that feature in the book. The book is written to help readers understand horses in general: what makes them sad, happy, annoyed, fearful or grateful. Your hearts will recognise the truth.

The horses live in a fictitious riding school. The horses themselves are fictitious, but they also represent universal truths about horses.
