comes from the buzzing and vibrating of the phone on top of the drawer next to the bed. The screen lights up at the same time, creating a blueish hue in the dimly lit room. A hairy arm reaches over from the bed and picks up the vibrating phone from the drawer top. The light from the phone screen shines bright enough to make out the drowsy face of a man. He slowly opens his eyes wider so he can read the text on the screen and sees that it he has three unread messages. His eyes open even wider as he reads the notifications on his screen again. When he sees who the messages are from he raises his other arm and uses both hands to unlock the phone. He taps the icon on the screen, it opens and takes him to his messages. At this point his heart beats a little faster and his mind starts to fill up with worryful thoughts. It is from Maria, who happens to be his girlfriend.
Maria : I'm tired of all this fighting and arguing with you because it's so painful and draining. You keep saying you will change your ways but i have come to understand now that it's just who you are or who you want to be and that's something I can't change. I tried my best to give this relationship a chance but I have reached a point of realisation that only you can change yourself and that's not my position to do so. I wish you all the best with your life, choices and decisions. I hope one day you can come right with everything that you are fighting inside of you. You are a good person deep down inside and I know it but I just can't be around to watch you destroy yourself. Take care of yourself Nathan and hope you find peace.
Maria : Please don't worry about replying to the first message because I'm turning my phone off after this.
Maria : Actually I'm just going to block you altogether so we don't have to talk about any of this at all.
He lowers the phone from his face, holds it in his hand, closes his eyes and lets out a big sigh. Nathan : Oh my God, Oh my God! Fuck my life!
He bangs his hand on top of the drawer and drops the phone to the floor. Nathan stares briefly at the ceiling as his mind races over the message he had just read. It wasn't their finest moments, especially on his end and that's what hurt him the most. She had tried so many times in the past to help him make up his mind but he seemed to divert to escaping from it most. He knew how much he had hurt her in the past and how he promised to never make her feel that way again. He had managed to keep his promise for sometime and she had slowly started regaining his trust. But like always his inner demons kept calling and pushing him to get back on that old horse. Nathan fought off his urges for drugs as hard as he could, but this old horse had a trick he wasn't ready for. One night out after a little arguement with Maria, he met the lady in red
. Just like the myth she turned out to be everything they say and said about her. Her eyes pierced through his skull when they made contact, her smile took away all the anger and negative thoughts on his mind. She had long, silky, shiny black hair that brought out all her facial feautures. Nathan was instantaneously struck by her beauty and she kept him in her sight for a little while. It's almost like she had him under some kind of spell the way he just stood there and gazed at her. He smiled at her, she smiled back and that's how they got to talking. It turns out her name was Amanda and she had just recently relocated after a break up. They talked about the
