Chapter 1 : Darkness Lurks
N o! Please stop!
The loud screams of the man pierced through the cold night air. He let out another shriek but the silence was somehow deafening on that night. It was clear from the lack of any noise coming from the surrounding area, that his fate had been decided. The man felt a a pair of hands grab him by the ankles and raise his legs to an inclined position. He tried to make out the face but couldn't see clearly in the pitch black darkness. There was a brief pause as the man lay on his back, hands tied together close to his chest and eyes staring in the dark. Suddenly the man felt his body move forward as he was being dragged by the legs. Please!..What do you want from me?..Let me go!
He pleaded with the person dressed in all black clothes as he dragged him on. The man's mind raced as he thought about all the possiblities of what would become of him. He went through a few possible scenarios in his head and they all played out in a similar fashion each time. It didn't end well for him in pretty much all of them which really made him panic frantically. He tried to kick his legs free but this character dressed in all black would not even budge. Instead the black cloaked character's hands gripped him even more tightly. The man could feel the pressure from the tight grip on his tendons. The cold icy grip of his hands could be felt even though their hands had black gloves on them. This sent a jolt of fear down the mans body, that paralysed him temporarily. The black cloaked character kept dragging the man in complete silence and with so much calm. It was almost like he was casually pulling his lawn mower back to the shed after cutting the grass all day. Things got more eerie when the cloaked character started whistling casually through the night. He pelted out a seamless tune as he dragged the man on into the night. The man then tried to called out to his attacker and pleaded with him for his freedom. Please man! Please let me go..you can have my wallet and everything else valuable on me...
The black cloaked character then stops dragging the man. At this point the man becomes numb, not sure what would become of him. The whistling stops too and there is a quiet pause in the dark. The victim and the attacker both go silent as if to listen for something. The black clothed assailant then lets out a deep baleful laugh which makes the man quiver with fear. The laugh is so dreaful and troubling, that the man wets his pants. The black cloaked character begins dragging the man again. At this point the man has now fallen silent awaiting his fate. They come to what he makes out to be a big dark abandoned building. The man seems to recognise the building even amidst all the fear and panic. Before he can gather his thoughts he feels his body being dragged off again. This time he feels the stones scrape and cut his skin as he drags on. They come to a dark entrance and the black cloaked character drops the mans legs. He walks over into the dark room and turns on the light which shines brightly, almost blinding the man. He squints his eyes since his hands are still tied up and he can't use them to block his the light. The black cloaked character walks over to the man who is still laying on his back trying to make out who was standing before him. The man pleads with the cloaked assailant but before he can say a word, he gets struck on the head. There was a loud thud as the blunt object made contact with his skull and then everything went black for him. When the man finally came around, he slowly awoke to a dark figure, standing at the opposite end of the room. He closes his eyes and opens them slowly again, only to realise that the figure was upside down. He blinks a few times to see if his eyes aren't deceiving him, then he realises that he's the one hanging upside down. A sharp pain rushes to his head once he had regains consciousness. He twists his fave in pain and remembers getting struck by something on the head. He immediately starts to panick realising that his life really is in danger. It only becomes known to him at that point, that his he was mouth had also been gagged. So not only is he tied up upside down, but he can't speak either. The man begins wriggling in attempt to free himself but he can feel nothing loosening. The black cloaked character begins walking towards the man, who stared at him approaching in horror. As the black cloaked figure gets closer, the man hears his heart beat tearing through his chest. He wriggles one more time as vigorously as he could but, again nothing seemed to come loose. He tried to let out a loud scream, hoping that it would somehow stop the cloaked character. None of all his attempts seemed to change his seemingly gruesome fate. All it did was make the black cloaked character laugh menacingly as he carried on walking towards the man. The man begins to shed tears as he pleads with his attacker through his bound mouth. The black cloaked assailant walks up to the man hanging upside down and stares at him. The man looks at his attacker's face, but it's covered by a mask that only has holes for the eyes. The mask resembles something like a medieval executioner's. Through the holes the man could see his attacker's eyes that had very perculiar pupils. The skin around them and on his face looked to be painted black. The man swallows hard and goes silent as this horrifies him even more. The black clothed assailant raises one of his hands and touches the man's face. The man screams, as the attackers cold glove covered hands, ran over his face. The black cloaked character takes his finger and places it over his mouth. The man knows that it means he should be quiet, so he stops screaming but continues breathing heavily. Suddenly the black cloaked character pulls out a surgical blade. The man shrieks but to no avail as his mouth was still bound shut. The black cloaked character stands there, blade in hand for a brief moment. He proceeds to motion his hand like an opera conductor. He made movements and gestures with his hands as if he was conducting music. The man starts praying and pleading with the cloaked character the whole time like he made he gestures. The black cloaked character then raises the hand with the blade in it,as it to signal a high note. He raises both hands as gestures the tempo to be rising. At the height of his invisible high note,
