    Wild Cravings Book 1

Ally Peterson stared at the spreadsheet on her computer screen, trying to absorb the numbers and force them to change into something that wouldn’t spell disaster.  She had started her real estate business nearly two years ago and it had gone well for about eight months before the market went bad.  She’d been left draining her savings in order to pay her only employee, Tina.

To make matters worse, her romantic life was also a mess.  She’d had a boyfriend up until three weeks ago.  And even though she hadn’t been really crazy about Brian, he’d at least been okay in bed… until he’d cheated on her.  It was the sort of thing that could have destroyed the self-confidence of a lot of women but Ally had an inborn confidence that just wasn’t very affected by Brian’s betrayal. As soon as she’d found out, she just knew she deserved better than him. Anyway, she was over Brian. She just could really use a good diversion from her financial woes, preferably in the form of a hot sexual encounter.

Ally ran her fingers through her wavy, blonde, shoulder length hair and turned away from the spreadsheet on her screen.  She stared out the glass door into the parking lot, watching as Tina drove in and parked in one of the furthest spots.  Ally felt a pang of guilt as she watched Tina.  She knew that Tina needed this job, and she was going to feel terrible if she had to let her go just because of money.

Tina stepped out of her car and walked towards the door.  She was tall and gorgeous and as skinny as a model from the cover of a magazine.  Some women may have felt intimidated by having a young assistant who was so hot, but it was actually what had originally drawn Ally to hire Tina.  Ally was confident with her own looks.  She knew she wasn’t as tall or skinny as Tina, but her petite, curvy body and ample breasts had their own appeal.  Ally got plenty of male attention; practically everywhere she went she noticed men turning their eyes toward her to roam over her body insolently.  This attention was hardly ever wanted.  But with Tina around, it was easy to keep things professional with her male clients.

As soon as a man saw Tina, Ally became an afterthought.  Not only was Tina younger and more beautiful in a cover model type of way, she was also easier.  Tina was fun; she liked having fun, and men could sense her willingness for this. But Ally’s eyes gave away seriousness that many men found intimidating, despite her short stature and striking good looks.  They could see in Ally’s eyes a strength that couldn’t be overtaken, a self-possession and awareness that made it clear she couldn’t be easily dominated.  And so far, Ally hadn’t met a man who truly impressed her in the bedroom.  So, even men who thought she was attractive would quickly turn their attention to the more pliable Tina.  Tina didn’t mind the abundance of attention, in fact she absolutely thrived on it, and Ally enjoyed having her there as a buffer.  It was an arrangement that had served both of them well for quite a while.

Tina had even helped Ally make a couple of sales, like the time a man was absolutely set on finding a house with a fireplace and was turning down a perfect house that had a wood burning stove in the den, but no fireplace. All Tina had to do to close the sale was to say that wood stoves were rustic and sexy.  He bought that house the next morning, probably envisioning a wild night of sex in front of his so-called rustic wood stove, but that never happened.  Tina had simply filed his infatuation away as a conquest and moved on to win over the next man.  It didn’t matter to Ally that Tina flirted with clients mercilessly, especially when it helped her make a sale.

That’s what I need, Ally mused. Just one good sale would keep me going for another four months, maybe six. All I need is one good sale: one commission.  For the next two hours, Ally kept repeating these words to herself, like a mantra, thinking that maybe if she focused on them hard enough, she could draw a client to her who was looking to sell a house. Tina and Ally tried to find things to do around the office but the phone was quiet and no clients were coming through the door.

Tina started a game of solitaire and sat with her chin in one hand as she lazily clicked the mouse.  Ally pulled up her spreadsheet one more time, trying to figure out how big of a sale she’d need to make to keep the business going until the end of the year.  It wouldn’t take much.  Her average house sales were around $200,000.  If she could just do a sale like that, her troubles would be solved.  At least for the time being.

A movement caught her eye in the parking lot and she raised her eyes to see what it was.  A sleek, shining black luxury car pulled into the spot directly in front of the glass door of her office.  Ally tried not to get overly excited by assuming it was a possible client.  There was another real estate agent next door to her on one side, and a sandwich place on the other, so whoever this was could easily be going into one of the other premises.

The car door opened and a long, lean man stepped out.  He was well dressed and his dark mocha colored skin was smooth over his bulging biceps as he walked directly towards Ally’s door.  Tina looked up at the sound of the car door closing and saw him. Ally heard Tina draw in a sharp breath when she caught sight of the incredibly hot man. Both women adjusted their clothing and ran fingertips through their hair as he pulled open the door, Tina nervously wondering if he was single and Ally nervously wondering if he was wanting to sell a house.

Ally knew the man would go directly to Tina, who sat closer to the door, and always commanded the bulk of male attention anyway.  She sincerely hoped that if this was a possible sale, Tina could use some of her charm to secure the deal because judging from this man’s car and clothes, this could be a life-saving commission for the business.

Ally focused her eyes on the computer screen and prepared to be a second fiddle while her sexy assistant captivated the man for a few moments.  But to her surprise, as soon as the man opened the door, his deep, dark eyes went directly to hers.  They were soulful eyes, and she couldn’t tear her gaze away from his as he moved towards her, a slight smile beginning to form on his lips.  Her heart skipped a beat as she looked at him; there was an undeniable chemistry lurking under the surface between them.

She’d never felt anything like this before.  Confidence oozed from him and he was completely masculine, his muscles hard and well defined under the polo shirt he was wearing.  She realized that he wasn’t intimidated by the strength in her gaze.  This was the first time a man had held her gaze for this long, this confidently. He was all man, she realized, having no other way to describe it to herself except to say that if you looked up the word 'man' in the dictionary, he would fit the description.

He held out his hand to her and she shook it, feeling the electric tension between them: a pulsing heat that travelled from his hand into hers.

Hi, he said with a sexy, crooked grin.  My name is Michael Sutton.  I need to sell my house.

Ally Peterson, she answered, unable to stop the glint in her eyes when she looked up at his perfect face.  I can sell your house.

He laughed at that, his face lighting up in a grin and Ally only had one clear thought in that moment; this guy was trouble.

Over the next few minutes, he laid out the details of the sale he was planning.  He wanted to relocate, and he wanted to get his house sold fast. He wasn’t worried about taking a loss. He just wanted the house sold so he could move.  This was an answer to practically all of Ally’s financial troubles.  This would be an easy sale, and he wanted it soon – it would save her business, at least for a little while.

    Her only regret was that
