About this ebook
The Game of Missions... The game of cards you never want to play. Or do you?
After a long day of renovating, tradies, Dave and Jim, will never forget the day they sat down to play The Game of Missions.
The card game that will send you anywhere, any place, any time... discovered mates Jim and Dave soon after they sat down to play a card game with the deck they'd found in the attic earlier that day.
Following the rules given to them from the deck of cards soon saw them facing mission after mission, not knowing where they'd end up, what the mission was, or who they would meet.
Will the tradies ever complete the card game and finish their own renovating mission? Or are they forever stuck in The Game of Missions?

The Game of Missions - Andrew Byers
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
––––––––
Growing up in a small town in the Central West of New South Wales, with dyslexia, was a struggle for Andrew. Although he was never a book worm, he has always had a creative mind and quick wit that would be perfect for writing sit-coms. Instead, he spent most of his working career as a labourer, business owner, renovator and home mechanic. The typical 'Jack-of-all-trades.'
Inspired by his wife, who changed careers after 24 years from nurse to author, Andrew sat down and hand wrote his own book. He has been know to say... Thankfully my wife can read dyslexic.
He enjoyed writing this book and hopes his readers enjoy it too.

'Come on mate, are you ready for that game of cards now, or what?' Dave called out as he entered the room Jim was working in. 'They're not going to play by themselves.'
'Yeah sure, why not. I'm more than ready to take a break from the reno's. I'm knackered anyway, and it is Friday evening after all,' Jim agreed as he put his hammer down, keen to call a halt to the renovations for today.
Dave wiped sweat from his forehead with the back of his arm. 'It's definitely beer-o'clock and we've worked hard today.'
'Sure is, and we sure have,' Jim agreed, 'I'm rapt with our progress, we'll have this joint renovated and back on the market in no time. I'll wash up and meet you in the kitchen.'
'No worries,' said Dave, not wasting time in bee-lining straight down the stairs to the fridge in the kitchen for a beer.
After washing the days grime off himself, Jim grabbed the deck of cards that they had found earlier that day in the attic while they were poking around behind a big old dusty bookcase.
Under the bookcase they had discovered a loose board. Hoping to find treasure when they looked under the board all they found was a deck of cards, which at least came in handy for something to do tonight.
Heading into the kitchen, Jim grabbed them each a beer from the fridge before sitting down at the large wooden table opposite Dave.
'Cheers mate,' said Dave as he took a beer off Jim. 'The other one went down too quick,' he grinned, as he pointed to an empty beer can on the table.
Jim took a mouthful of his own beer before responding. 'Bit thirsty mate,' he chuckled. 'Here's the cards,' he said, as he pushed the deck towards Dave before he took another swig of his beer.
As Dave went to deal the cards they all started to glow silver and gold so he quickly put the deck back on to the table.
Welcome to The Game of Missions appeared across the top card.
Dave sat back in his chair. 'Okay. . . that's different.'
Words continued and instructions on the deck revealed that different cards had different meanings and if you drew a number card, that was how many missions you had to complete before you could continue onto the next hand.
Not understanding what the missions
were about, they agreed to have a game instead of the usual poker. Dave and Jim looked at each other as the glowing cards had another message on the top card.
Deal five cards each, it instructed.
More messages appeared. . . The face cards, King, Queen and Jack are your friends, they will help you. The only way to stop the game is by getting all face cards.
Jim frowned. 'I thought you said they wouldn't play themselves. It looks like they are making us play.'
They soon discovered that the best option was to hopefully be dealt only low number cards. This would enable them to complete their missions fast, so they could draw another card and best case scenario it would be a face card.
Both men quickly realised they had no choice but to play, so, the game began. Dave picked up the deck and dealt five cards to Jim, then five cards to himself, before placing the deck back in the middle of the table between them.
'Here we go,' said Dave as they looked at each other sceptically. 'I wonder what on earth these missions could be?'
'Only one way to find out, I suppose,' Jim muttered as he picked up his cards.
Looking down at what they were dealt, Dave spoke again. 'I have an ace, four, two, queen and jack. What do you have?' He asked Jim.
Jim finally looked at him and said, 'I've got a two, three, and four, a queen and a king. What do we do now?'
'Well. . . I dealt,' said Dave, 'so I guess I go first. It looks like I have seven missions to do and you have nine. At least we both have two so-called safe cards.'
Dave took the ace card from his hand and placed it face down in the centre of the table. 'I figure one mission is enough to deal with at first.'
On the back of the card words started to appear. They both looked at each other in disbelief.
'What have we started!' said Dave, as he could not believe what the card was asking him to do.
The instructions were telling him to go to the edge of a town called Pitville. However, Pitville was located on the other side of the country.
The instructions continued; Head to the edge of town where there is a very old brick tower.
