The Super Six and the Gymnastic Globe - Anyssa Lin

    Prologue

    The Sinister Six

You will need 6 things to raise me back to human form. The superheroes don’t know this, but currently I am posing as a plant in the Amazon Forest. They think I have perished during the Battle, but I am still alive." A nefarious voice came from the computer.

    But Fulciferus, what are these six things? asked The Poet. She looked at the rest of the Sinister Six;

Oceanic, who can control the waters with her mind, talk to sea animals, and control them. She can also breathe underwater.

Cheetah, who can run as fast and agile as a cheetah, (obviously), has sharp claws, and can be ferocious when she wants to be.

Roht, who can summon lightning with his silver sword (Called the Sword of Storms) and fly.

Knockout, who can snap his fingers and make someone lose consciousness in a second. He also has a black belt in karate.

The Trickster, who is an expert at acrobatics, and he is funny. He also gets hilarious ideas when he fights, such as water guns and whoopee cushions.

And last but not least, The Poet, who can recite poems to fight and basically do anything with poems. She can give riddles. Her voice can coerce someone to do something involuntarily.

The voice from the computer continued,

These are the six things you need: The Gymnastic Globe, The Lightning Wand, The Corpse Charm, The Telepathy Pole, The Thunder Bolt, and The Archer’s Arrow. You will also need to get me, and by me, I mean the flower, from the Amazon Forest.

The Poet turned pale, and stuttered,

B-but Fulciferus! Weren’t those six things destroyed when the teen superheroes (who are now adults, by the way) destroyed you-I mean-when they thought they killed you during the Battle!

Yes, said Fulciferus, It is true that those six things were destroyed back then, but they can be remade, by the people who know how to do that. The people who I’m talking about, are the Super Six.

All the villains hissed and snarled in disgust. It was clear that they have had countless encounters with the Super Six and had barely got away.

Start with the Gymnastic Globe. Gymnastic Girl is the superheroine girl who can make the Gymnastic Globe. Do something to get Gymnastic Girl to come to you so that you can force her to make the Gymnastic Globe. Then you will be ⅙ of the way to bring me back to human form and I will be all-powerful again. said the voice impatiently.

Yes, Fulciferus. replied all the villains together, and The Poet shut the computer and turned to Oceanic, Cheetah, Roht, Knockout, and The Trickster, looking at each one in turn.

We have to start planning what to do to get the Gymnastic Globe, she said.

We could shoot them with plastic arrows! said The Trickster, then he burst out laughing.

The Poet sighed, and said, shaking her head, Trickster, please, not something as ridiculous as that!

How about we invite them to the beach in our normal identities and then we can use water to drown them! said Oceanic excitedly.

You are unbelievable, Oceanic. said Knockout, That would mean that they are dead, and whole point of this is for them to be alive! We need them to be alive so that we can get the Gymnastic Globe! Instead of drowning them, we can make them lose consciousness, then we could imprison them and force Gymnastic Girl to make the Globe.

That idea isn’t so bad! said The Poet.

    Cheetah clears her throat.

You haven’t heard my idea, she says icily, preparing to offer her idea.

    Nor mine. pointed out Roht.

Alright. Let’s hear your ideas, how to get Gymnastic Girl to make the Globe. said The Poet.

So, we can chase them around, then push them into the hole-I mean-grate that leads them to our hideout. Then we force Gymnastic Girl to make the Globe for us. said Cheetah.

    Mmm-hmm. nodded The Poet.

But Roht, who thought he had the best idea, said,

How about this. We take one of her friends hostage. The others will surely come after her or him. Once they come into our hideout, then we will trade the hostage for the Globe!

The Poet thought for a bit, then decided for them all.

Guys, we know what their real identities are, when they’re not superheroes, right? So, we just lure, as in asking the person that we’re taking hostage to follow us, and since they just think we’re normal people, we’ll scare her or him, by transforming into the villains. After that, then Knockout will make her or him lose consciousness. We will take the hostage into our hideout, and make a deal with the Super Six. We’ll say, ‘We will give your friend back, if Gymnastic Girl makes the Gymnastic Globe for us.’ said The Poet proudly.

The rest of the Sinister Six pondered this idea, then one by one started to grin maliciously.

But who should we take hostage? asked Oceanic.

    Black Thunder? suggested Cheetah.

No way! said The Trickster immediately, He’ll fight once we reveal ourselves. We need someone who won’t fight so fast. And plus, he’s the leader. I think. He’s the leader. Right?

The Poet nodded, and pondered who to take hostage. Then she said,

    How about Gymnastic Girl herself?

    Knockout smacked his head.

Seriously, Poet?!?!?! he says, rolling his eyes.

    What? asked The Poet, confused.

Knockout rolled his eyes again, and said,

But we need a hostage to lure Gymnastic Girl. So, we can’t take her hostage. Obviously. Duh!

Oh. Right. said The Poet sheepishly.

How about Lightning Dash? said The Trickster, He won’t fight back as fast.

Roht sighed, then said to the Trickster,

Haven’t you learned anything from our encounters with the Super Six? Whenever I try to electrocute Lightning Dash, he just brushes himself off. He’s immune to lightning!! And his powers include super speed. What do you mean, he won’t fight back as fast?!

    The Trickster explained,

I was comparing Lightning Dash and Black Thunder.

I’m pretty sure that Lightning Dash is faster than Black Thunder. Roht countered.

How about Arrowette? asked Oceanic, breaking them apart from each other. Roht and the Trickster were face to face, eyes narrowed at each other.

The Poet also rolled her eyes, and said,

Yeah, but she’s always armed with a bow and arrows. Everyone at Riverwood Middle School believes her lie, that her bow and arrows are fake and just for show. But they’re not. The bow and arrows are real. Once she realizes who we are, then she’ll start shooting arrows at us!

Roht’s eyes lit up with an idea, but it isn’t the kind of idea that is good. The gleam in his eyes caught the attention of Oceanic, Cheetah, Knockout, Trickster, and Poet.

What? asked all five of them suspiciously.

Roht’s smile grew even wider. Then he said,

I know exactly whom to capture.

    Chapter 1

    The First Trick

…A nd because we have a one week break for Thanksgiving, there will be no homework." finished Mr. Sandler.

The whole class cheered. After they cheered, the bell rang.

    RING! RING!

The cheers went even louder. The whole class filed out of Classroom 19.

Six tweens moved together like a blob of people.

The one in the front had short brown hair and blue eyes. He had peach-ish colored skin. His name was Jayden Nil. He loved weather, especially storms, and he was always the happiest when he was outside.

Next to him was a girl with long, wavy black hair and eyes that were brown-black. She had peach skin. Her name was Grace Wang. She loved reading and writing. She always had at least a book in hand, a pen or pencil, or a notebook.

Behind Jayden and Grace was a girl that had blond hair in a ponytail with hazel eyes. She had slightly olive skin. Her name was Isabella Brown (Nicknamed Bella by her friends). She loved gymnastics and always tried to teach her friends gymnastics, but almost never succeeded.

Next to Isabella was a boy who had short black hair and coal-black eyes. His name was Ethan Wang, and he was Grace’s twin brother. Just like Grace, he had peach skin. He loved running, so he joined the track team. He also loved to look at lightning.

Behind Isabella and Ethan, there was a girl that could have been mistaken for Jayden’s sister. She had long brown hair, even longer than Grace’s. She also had blue eyes. The only different physical characteristic was her skin. Her skin was tan. Her name was Lilah Miller. She was a tomboy, and she loved all sports, especially archery. She always kept a bow and arrows close to her.

Next to Lilah was a boy that had smooth blonde hair and green eyes. His name was Lucas Miller. He was Lilah’s twin brother. The only resemblance to Lilah was their tan skin. He loved to tinker with technology and gadgets.

All six of them were 11 and in sixth grade at Riverwood Christian School. Riverwood Christian School was a private school, and it went from Pre-K to 8th Grade. The six tweens were best friends. And they also shared a secret.

They were chatting merrily about what they were going to do over Thanksgiving Break.

I think I’m just gonna relax. Jayden said wistfully, looking at the front doors of the school.

    Grace laughed,

Are you sure you don’t want to go on an adventure?

Jayden thought for a moment, and shrugged,

    Hmm, maybe…

Then Isabella looked at her watch, and gasped,

Argh! We only have one minute left till science!

    Come on! Hurry! Let’s go!

They raced to the lockers, grabbed their books, and flew away to class like eagles. Their science teacher, Mrs. Keys was writing on the board. This was what was on the board:

    11/20/2020, Friday

Today, we will be doing a lecture on weather. Please go to your lab bench, where you will receive your handouts.

When everyone was settled down, Mrs. Keys turned around and said,

Hello class. Today, we will be doing a lecture on how clouds make rain. Here are all your note handouts for this section.

As Mrs. Keys passed out the notes, Jayden’s eyes lit up. He always loved classes when they did anything about the weather.

Soon, everybody was quiet and taking notes on the weather. After 40 minutes, Mrs. Keys announced the end of class,

    Ok, class is over.

Everybody stampeded out of the science lab because it was the end of the school day.

As they entered back into the
