Worlds Apart
Ever since she was little, Eliza Nightingale always loved the lights. She loved the way they twinkled in the night sky. Especially when Mummy let her finally go outside, for the first time in a week. Because the raids were happening every day, and Eliza wasn’t allowed to go outside when the raids happened.
That was the rule her mum told her about. And Eliza, most of the time at least, listened to her mother’s orders. Despite how bad she wanted to break them and go exploring into the night.
Strange men would come to their door during the raids.
