About this ebook

The book has three sections but all are significant to nurture and nature in life. It is a journey of love, pain and acceptance in society and in all relationships. There are hints of feminism, racism and body positivity discussions.

The entire book is an expression of life and the beauty of it. To embrace of differences and our pain so that we can grow and evolve. There are essences of pain throughout because we all suffer. It is to show that as a species we can all relate to one another in some ways. If that is through low self-esteem or trauma. The experiences are apart of us and it is the way that we overcome them and help one another. Communities and individuals bring others down and spread hatred but my poetry is to spread love and open the minds.

Kacey Jones

Kacey Thea Emily Jones, is my name. I was born April the 3rd 2002 in Gloucestershire. My mother is Victoria Trigg ( maiden name Goodge) and my father is Dereck Jones. At the age of three my parents separated and in our lives joined my stepfather, Jason Trigg. The short story of my life is that my family came apart of the military. I am one of eight children, between two marriages. During the ages of 11-18 I attended a boarding school called Wymondham College; in Norfolk. My love of poetry started their when learning about 'Porphyria’s Lover' and other poems. Currently I am attending the University of East Anglia to study to become a paramedic. However, this journey wasn't always certain for me as in June 2021, I was in a car crash in Nottingham. I had broken my L1 vertebrae, bruised my liver and gained a left brain hemorrhage. At this point of my life it was certain I had sustained nerve damage and would be paralyzed. My stubborn personality wasn't going to have that. I have learnt to walk, dress, wash and many other things to do for myself. Without the support system around me I would not have overcome the trauma I have faced. I have too many people to thank in my life. Overall, the physical and emotionally support of my mother and stepfather pushed me through. At the age of 19, I never thought my mum would need to shower me again. During lockdown and through out my life I have gained many boring hobbies to a 19 year old. My love of knitting, crocheting, suduko, traveling, reading, writing, crosswords, walks and many other things have only grown. I learnt level 1 British sign language in the first lockdown in 2020. Throughout my school years, I have suffered with body dysmorphia, anxiety, seasonal affective disorder, paranoia and PTSD. My endless encounters of being bullied and other traumatic events have made me the person I am. My poetry is not an exact account of my life but there are hints of truth throughout. I hope that my poetry is relatable to some and lovable.
