Fright Train (A Weirdville Book)
()
About this ebook
Charlie’s parents drop him off at the train station so he can visit his grandma in Weirdville. It’s a cold winter evening, so when his usual train is cancelled at the last second, Charlie wishes he’d stayed home.
An hour later, shivering from the cold, he climbs onboard the next train to Weirdville, even though he’d rather not. It looks like something straight out of the nineteenth century, as if it used a time machine to arrive at the station.
His shivering doesn’t stop, for soon after Charlie boards, he realizes just how right he was to be wary of this strange train. Something is seriously wrong with all the people onboard. If only he could figure out what was going on. If only he could get off the train.
Majanka Verstraete
Majanka Verstraete begged her Mom to teach her how to read while she was still in kindergarten. By the time she finished fifth grade, she had read through the entire children’s section of her hometown library. She wrote her first story when she was seven years old, and hasn’t stopped writing since. With an imagination that never sleeps, and hundreds of possible book characters screaming for her attention, writing is more than a passion for her. She writes about all things supernatural for children of all ages. She’s tried to write contemporary novels before, but something paranormal always manages to crawl in. Majanka is currently studying for her Master of Laws degree, and hopes one day to be able to combine her passions for law and writing. When she’s not writing, reading or studying, she likes watching “The Vampire Diaries” and “Game of Thrones,” spending time with her friends, or playing “World of Warcraft.”

Dedication
For all those kids out there who love telling scary stories to their friends, and reading scary books in bed at night, wondering if they should leave the lights on or not after reading.
Hope you enjoy this story as well!
Chapter One
Charlie bounced from his left leg onto his right leg and rubbed his arms in an effort to stay warm. He exhaled a small, white cloud. The air was stale cold as snow swirled from the grey sky. He wore a red snow jacket, an oversized hat and thick gloves, but that wasn’t enough to keep him warm. He should’ve worn the scarf his mom had suggested to him as well, but he didn’t want to be caught wearing a scarf with a Mickey Mouse pattern. The hat, a heavy black monstrosity that looked like those tall Russian winter hats, was bad enough.
He was going to stay with his grandma for the two-week Christmas holiday. At first, he’d been upset about it; the thought of being away from his parents for so long made his stomach squirm. But his parents were busy renovating the house, and it was either sleeping on the couch in the damp, chilly living room, or staying with his grandma. At least Grandma’s house was always warm.
His mom had dropped him off at the station fifteen minutes before his train was due to arrive, on her way to an appointment with a gynecologist—a difficult word for a doctor
