Phoenix, Arizona, there was a small neighborhood where the Thompson family lived. They were Mary, David, and their son, Eric. Mary was a thirty-five year old nurse. She had straight blonde hair that went past her shoulders just an inch. She worked at Romeos’ Hospital. She had been married to David for five years. David was thirty-six and had short brown hair. He was a mechanic and owned Thompson’s Auto Parts. Their son, Eric, was five years old. He had short brown hair and a laugh that lit up the room.

They lived in a brown one-story house with blue shutters. Eric had his own room full of toys. He had a kid’s twin bed and a dresser packed with clothes. Mary and David had their own bedroom, of course. They each had their own dressers, a queen-sized bed, and a Vizio TV. They also each had their own vehicles. Mary drove a 2018 blue Toyota Corolla. David drove a black 2018 Honda Ridgeline truck and he mainly used it for work.

An alarm went off at 6:00 a.m. David woke up and turned it off. He yawned and looked at his wife. She’s beautiful, he thought. Even with messy hair. He started to wake her.

Hey, wake up, he said as he shook her shoulders.

No, I don’t want to, she mumbled under her breath. She still had her eyes closed.

Yes, we have to wake up Eric and go to work, he told her as he kissed her forehead. He then got out of bed, stretched, and walk to the bathroom.

While he was getting ready in the bathroom, Mary finally got out of bed. She yawned and stretched her body. She went to her closet near the bed to pick out clothes. She got out pink scrubs and gray tennis shoes. She walked over to her dresser and looked in the mirror above it. She grabbed a ponytail holder on the dresser and put it in her hair. She then walked to the bathroom and brushed her teeth. Then when Mary walked toward Eric’s room, David came out of the bathroom. He was wearing a mechanic’s outfit with his buisness’s name on the front.

He walked in Eric’s room and saw Mary getting him ready for the day. She dressed him in a red shirt, gray shorts, and black shoes.

Hey, Daddy, he said to David. He also gave him a smile.

Hey, buddy, are you ready to see the neighbors today? David asked him as they walked out of the room.

Yeah, Dad. I want to go play! Eric
