Nine-Eleven Day

Tragedy struck on nine-eleven day

When four flights sailed up and away

The passengers and crew were unaware

Of the fate in store when they took to the air

The planes took off to fly to the sun

The passenger’s expectant and looking for fun

Two planes flew into the twin towers

The third into the Pentagon within hours

The fourth went down in the afternoon sun

In a Pennsylvania County before the long day was done,

The country was in shock that the terrorists were so bold

Over three thousand people were killed, now the story is told

Of the brave men and women whose lives they gave

To help those few their lives to save

Heroes like this in this world we need

To bring us together we remember their deed

Tribute To The Crew Of The Columbia

The Columbia took off to fly into space

Another job to do for the human race

The Columbia sailed up, the crew unaware

Of the fate in store when they took to the air

The crew in good spirits flying home from space

Another job well done for the human race

As it came from orbit and came into sight

It started to break up, the crew lost their fight

Their lives they gave for the human race

For the future children of man who go into space

The crew of the Columbia, their days on earth done

Now walk together the final one,

It’s heroes like this the world sorely needs,

May we all here on earth remember their deeds

Unsaid

I met this woman in the hospital, whose husband died that day

She had no belief in Him to show her the way

She told me that she doesn’t believe in God you see

She said when you die, you die, that is all it can be

Now my husband of forty-nine years is gone, life has no meaning to me

There is no future in my life that I can see

I told her that her life was precious; you might not feel it now

But when you go home and see your children, you will see how

Your healing will come with time, a new life with your children it will be

So believe in yourself and what you can do, only then you will be free

As she was leaving the room, she came to me and said

Thank you for being here for me and the things you left unsaid

Then she walked out the door, never looking back my way

Somehow I felt that I had helped, healing was underway.
