    TRUSTING GOD

    For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Roman 8: 24 – 25.

    While growing up, I heard a story so many times that it stuck to the back of my mind. Back then, it was for fun and for learning how to use words, but now that I am older, it does teach me something;

    In a small village where no mother was educated and every father was a farmer or a fisherman, there had been no rain for a very long time. The crops were dying, the water wells were drying up slowly, and the heat of the day chased the fishes to the bottom of the river. The leaders had gathered severally but none of their plans seemed to work out. During one of their meetings when all hope had been lost, a young man suggested that they call the attention of a rainmaker. After much discussion, they did so. The rainmaker was brought down to the village within the hour and he called the attention of all the people living in the village, young and old.

    By this same time in the morrow, you shall all gather here and wait for the rains. And it shall come! the rainmaker said.

    There was great joy in the village and everyone waited in anticipation. Then the next day came. Sara was a little kid and the only child of her both parents. She joined her father and mother to prepare for the trip to the square where the people were told to gather.

    What is that for? Sara’s mother asked as they started to leave their home.
