I t all started with a chat site, a toxic relationship, and
two people named Martha and Jeb.
Martha was known as Shocca and Jeb is known as Openup throughout the story. For years Martha had dealt with an abusive marriage. Does she stay for the kids’ sake? OR does she leave and start over? Her heart says yes but, her mind says what will you tell the kids?
She would just keep working 2 to 3 jobs and go feed the kids, pick the house up, do the dishes then set down and open up the site. Where she had friends that most, she didn’t even know but loved to visit with. Sometimes there would be huge arguments on the site and, that’s where she would let all of her frustrations out. Some called it thumb bumping, most called it relief. This rocked on for a few years of going through the motions of day-to-day routines. She had a very best friend named D who was going through pretty much the same thing without the physical abuse. Although he would come and go and when he returned, he expected to be best of friends even if they hadn’t talked in months. D, better known as an asshole, finally ventured off somewhere. Maybe another site or maybe just took a break, and all that was known was he had disappeared for months. Same group would gather in the same room every night. Every once in a while, a stranger or someone under a fake name would come into the chat room and go after everyone. Martha had a way with words. Mess with her friends and she would get you quick. When Martha started this site, she went in under her own real name. That lasted about 3 months then she realized that probably was not too safe. Martha asked all her friends what a cool name would be to change her profile to. They threw out all kinds of names that didn’t click. Finally, someone said how about shellshocked? Hmmm
she said, as though she didn’t know for sure if that was what she was really looking for. Then it hit Martha shellshocca! Yes! That was it. Martha took down her real name and added the name she chose, SHELLSHOCCA. The name was a huge hit but not before she could prove she was the same Martha. After they figured out who she was, that’s when things went back to normal. The group would grow then some drop off. Some just sat in the room and watched all that went on. Some came in just to pull someone up in their Dm`s. If a fight broke out, the room would fill completely up like a pro boxing match. But at the end of the fight the same people would still be hanging in there and the shit starters would leave. They might have come in with a fake name a few times, but they would get run right back out. They did have a leak in their friendship circle for a few months and it was someone who knew the phone number and place they all lived. It got pretty bad. A lot of hurtful things were said during chat and in text or phone calls. At one point the
