HE WAS LEADING A DOUBLE LIFE

Tapping my fingers to the beat of the music, I stood up and walked over to the bar. It was August 2019 and I’d gone with a friend to a reggae night at a local pub. I loved swaying to the tunes and enjoyed a few drinks. As I waited, elbows propped on the bar, I noticed a man beside me also waiting.

He was handsome, with a nice physique and a smiley face.

Ten years earlier I’d separated from my husband. I’d had a brief relationship but had been single for years.

As I looked at the man beside me I thought he probably wouldn’t be interested in me, or he was likely already taken anyway.
