But Pierce Murdock didn't care if I was ready or not.

He claimed me with his eyes the moment he saw me.

And there's not a man alive who would dare challenge his claim.

I never thought I'd be some biker's plaything.

But Pierce makes me do a lot of things I'd never expected.

Like sneaking off in the middle of a wedding to get hot and heavy in a dark corner.

But us banging like rabbits is just the beginning.

When a gang crashes the reception with violence on their mind, Pierce is the only one who can protect me.

He whisks me away…

And then, just like that, he disappears.

Two months without a word from the mysterious bad boy.

But he left me with a wicked parting gift…

A baby in my belly.

And now, without a word of warning…

He's back.

And he's ready to claim what's his.

    Chapter 1

Q uit leaning on that damn shovel and get moving, Pierce ordered as he walked around the construction site.

I’m hungover as hell, his worker said with a sigh.

After an unimpressed look from Pierce, he began to move, slower than Pierce would have liked. Any progress was forward progress, though, so he didn’t critique the guy.

Hey, I didn’t have the greatest night myself, he informed Casey. I’m still here though. And I’ve done a hell of a lot more work than you this morning.

Any night that ended in ducking his way out of a conversation with the cops was by definition not great. He’d barely made it out of there before they collared him. He’d probably still be sitting in the police station right now if they’d seen him there.

He’d never in a million years imagined the cops showing up at a fancy event like that. That was the last time he was going to any damn rich person’s wedding. It hadn’t been worth the trouble.

Then again... he remembered Anna and the way that it had felt to have her tight around him. The way she’d gasped, smacking her hand to her mouth to keep from crying out as she’d come. That part had been more than worth all of the trouble, and he damn well knew it.

He should have gotten her number. As quickly as the thought occurred to him, he shook his head to clear it away. What good would that have done anyway? She’d clearly been after nothing more than the hour or two they’d shared. She hadn’t even wanted him to come back to her hotel with her for Christ’s sake.

When she’d said that, he’d been turned on by it. Now he felt like he’d missed out. It would have been a lot nicer to wake up next to her than it had been to drag himself out of bed alone after not nearly enough sleep this morning. He wondered idly what she looked like in the morning.

He could imagine all of that red hair mussed up from sleep. He could imagine her body even clearer, and it shot a bolt of pure desire through him. If someone had asked him to describe the hottest woman he could imagine, he would have described everything about her. The generous curves, the dark eyes, the causal makeup and the lack of frills in her clothes.

Pierce scrambled through his mind, trying to remember that he was thinking of reasons not to call her. A memory rose to the surface. Ricky had told him that she lived five hours away when he’d mentioned that Meagan’s sister would be in town for the wedding.

That was a damn good reason right there. Five hours away might as well have been halfway across the country. It wasn’t like he could just run off and take her out for a drink at the drop of a hat. He was stuck here.

Pierce cracked his neck, determined to get his head back in the game. There were more important things to think about. Things like the attack that had happened after the wedding.

One of the reasons that he hadn’t wanted to talk to the cops was that he was pretty sure that he’d recognized a few of the voices. If he had recognized him, the attack took on a different light. Maybe it hadn’t been about the money and the jewelry.
