About this ebook

“Give Me This Mountain” describes the journey of a woman called to “Preach the New Jerusalem” in a Baptist church. The journey spanned 44 years. It tells of the doctrines, beliefs, and practices within the church that impact the roles and functions of women. The challenges we overcome and lessons learned along the way build and strengthen one’s faith in Jesus Christ. As long as one has undeniable faith and trust in Jesus Christ, no mountain is too high to reach the summit. We become successful in our endeavors through Jesus Christ, who teaches the way. One can reach her/his destiny regardless of the obstacles or barriers placed along the way if you “Study”, “Pray” and “Wait” on the Lord.

    About the Author

I dedicate this book to my great-nephew, Caleb Holeman. Born December 5, 2001, Caleb was a twin to Christopher Holeman. The physician announced their arrival to us and made us aware that one twin had problems. Upon my visiting the mother, she gave us the names of the twins. Hearing the name Caleb, something came over me, and I could not contain myself. I jumped up with a spirit of joy, saying, Give me this mountain. I said to all in the room, Caleb is a message to me from God. His name confirms the title of the book I have been writing in my head for over twenty-five years.

Romans 8:28, 31 (NKJV) says, And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose… What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Christopher and Caleb are the great-grandsons of my father, Johnny Lee (LJ) Stanley. They are the great-great-grandsons of George Stanley Sr. and the great-great-great-grandsons of Oliver Stanley and are the descendants of ancestors from Oak Mountain in Harris County, Georgia.

Caleb died on December 6, 2001. While he lived only one day, his brief life provided the confirmation that I needed to write this book. Although I never saw Caleb alive, I feel that I talked with him in my spirit and that we exchanged greetings and discussed what his mission here on earth was.

The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord (Job 1:21 NKJV). Take Caleb in thine arms, dear Lord, and ever let him be a messenger of love, between our human hearts and thee.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

With a humble heart, I thank my father for teaching me the ways of sharing the Word of God when I did not know I was being taught.

Thanks to my siblings in the ministry—brothers Willie (deceased), Johnny Frank, Jimmy, and Benny, and
