About this ebook
Adam Waite
I’m Adam. I’m 38 years old and currently unemployed. It’s been this way for a while, actually. I do have a rapid imagination; however, as I really enjoyed writing this book. I like most sports especially football as I’m from England. My favourite team is Nottingham Forest as I’ve supported them from the age of 9 years old. I believe myself to be a passionate person who is also reasonable and good natured.

CHAPTER 1
THE BEGINNING FOR WINGED TOM
Another evening slowly goes by for Tom Worcester as he listens to the rain pour down on his windowpane. The rain seems like a bit of solitude from his hell at the moment, as it does not remind him of anything in particular in the small pub town of Rochford. Tom has always lived there, and lots of people recognize him on the busy high street in Southend where he has worked for over a year. You coward!
He remembers these words spoken to him by people whose names he does not even know.
Tom thinks to himself that he will never be happy or content again in his life as he stares down at the floor whilst lying on his bed listening to his Radiohead CD. The year is 1999, and Tom is a nineteen-year-old warehouse worker in a large chemist chain. He has lived with his dad after his mother left the house the previous May. It is late summer now—mid-August to be exact—and Tom seems to have discovered what is wrong with him all of a sudden. Or at least he feels he will find out very shortly, and all this for the insomniac to put up with after not eating and self-isolating himself in his room once more.
Bang! The muscles of his heart feel stretched as his heart stops beating at its regular pace. Ah!
Tom cries out loud as he can. He cannot scream too loud right now as the pain from his chest is so great that it saps his strength. His heart feels as if it is getting tighter and tighter. Indeed, he feels trapped now, and his pain is so great he cannot call out for help or assistance.
He also notices something different about his room. There is a light moving towards the window. It moves very slowly at first but very oddly indeed as it moves in all directions. It is quick and unforgettable. His chest feels bad, and with the light being the only distraction from his pain, Tom finds himself lying flat on his back with his neck extended wondering what the flying object is. His heart goes bang for a final time before Tom begins dreaming as he suddenly feels no pain.
Though he is looking at himself lying on the bed, which he feels sad about, he is in fact floating. Am I really myself? he thinks to himself. He can see his own body lying on the bed, and he notices that he has huge black wings on his back. Tom now fears that he has died and will never return to Earth again as he is being pulled or pursued by the light. It is so close and bright by now that it is impossible for him to see anything else—he is blinded by it. He starts to float towards the light, and although he is scared of this situation, he starts to feel reassured that all is well. A nice warm feeling from inside himself pleases him, and all anxieties and stresses are left behind on the bed. He indeed feels free—free from his life of woes once and for all. Although he fears leaving others behind, like his family members, he is now no longer inconsolable; rather, he is focused on getting to the light.
CHAPTER 2
BEFORE THE ABDUCTION
Two weeks before his disappearance from Earth, the young, distracted, and pathetic mind of a human being is on the hunt for either some sort of redemption from the pain caused by others or just the opportunity to feel normal, the way others seemed to him.
In this mind of a young nineteen-year-old male from Rochford, Essex, United Kingdom, all is not as it seems. Tom had often neglected himself as a younger teen. He had noticeably bad hygiene and strange eyes—but never to the extreme that exists now. He has finally gone loopy, and he knows it too. He goes in and out of thoughts thinking and believing two entirely different things at the same time. He is losing his grip on reality. He can think logically nearly all the time, but he is falling—falling fast in love with his inner demons. His mind wanders around looking for excuses as to why everything feels so worthless to him.
