INTRODUCTION

This book is composed of poetry of different styles as well as real-life stories of suffered terror, struggles, and tragedies that leave victims lost with no hope and with nowhere to turn. I stepped into my mindset and imagined victims telling their horrors, with the hope of encouraging those who feel like they have no voice to finally speak up, share their survival stories, bring to justice monsters, as well as save lives of the many experiencing the same thing. I know some of these stories because I am a victim, wrestling with suicidal thoughts daily, who has to reach deep down inside to overcome the returning nightmares every second of the day. Now is the time. Our time to stand up, speak up, and speak out with the reassurance that we will be okay, for we are survivors who took their best shots and are still here to make the seemingly impossible, possible with the ability to finally go on and live.

Living in constant fear

A victim held hostage just because of the region I live in

Suffering great losses

Attending funerals for the young and old daily

I’ve buried most of my friends at a young age

Not clearly understanding why this was happening back then

But I do now

Seeing no hope as the future for us becomes bleak by the hour

We watch your bombs light up the night sky

As we flee

Scattering about

Residing in underground shelters

Doing our best to survive these freezing frightening onslaughts

Where we are shaking frantically

It’s so cold down here

We haven’t eaten for days

Our wounded are infected from shrapnel

This nuclear fallout is taking the lives of innocent women and children

But I must tell you the truth of what’s really going on here

Your country wages a war that’s clearly based on personal gain

You attack us for the natural preserve that these holy lands produce

We remember the attack of September 11, 2001

As we were just as sad as you were

From that moment on

We knew that the enemy blame and target would be placed upon us

Not once did you use reasonable logic

You didn’t once question the tactics of your own government

Now this grave injustice has all but destroyed good people

People like you who seek happiness

Wanting for their families to have the best

Needing to live in peace

Where there is none

It’s funny how your government went through great measures to lie, hide and conceal evidence

Like the black boxes from those planes

Or the video shots from that hotel across the interstate, on top of those hotels

Your government is guiltier of war crimes than 1,000 Saddam Husseins put together

They are the murderous thieves who’ve taken countless lives for personal gain

Pushing their political views for a fake free democracy on the rest of the world

Which is nothing more than republic control and hidden dictatorship

Anyone who doesn’t agree automatically becomes an instant enemy

You need examples . . .

How about the annihilation of the true Native Americans

Whose land you took

Robbing them of riches and gold

Then proceeding in mass murders and putting the rest of them on reservations?

Or even worse

How about the total global destruction of the true Asian (the original Black man)?

Putting them in chains of bondage and placing them on slave ships

Making them sow your fields, building you a powerful empire
