FOREWORD

As coaches, athletes, or anyone in business who’s striving to be successful, we all tend to get caught up in focusing on outcomes—winning medals, premierships, being awarded a professional contract, or closing the sale that wins the big bonus. Everything’s great while the success rolls along, but what happens when the wheels fall off, the performances drop off, we stop winning games, or we fail to close those sales.

All these things contribute to putting a block in the way that stops your natural talent—and all those skills that you’ve learned and done well with in the past—from coming out and doing what they’ve always done, allowed you to succeed and be successful.
This book doesn’t focus on the outcomes; it focuses on the processes that allow you to pay attention to the area of your game that we all forget about, your mind.
In this book, Paul Smith draws on his experience in the business and
