Tennessee is a wonderful place; Akiko grew up in the Southside, the country music hall of fame town, where almighty God placed Akiko. In 1977 she graduated from A night school; she attended a local High School, where she played basketball. Akiko had so many credits, which allowed her to come out a year early; she took several classes at night to be able to graduate with her friends; they had the ceremony in June in her old School Gym where she also attended her junior year. This was an exciting time for Akiko her mom Iva had an opportunity to go to the Holy Lands.

Akiko was so happy they both had a dream come true, Iva was going during Akikos graduation; she was not going to be selfish and insist that Iva stay for the ceremony. Akikos mother Iva arranged for her to stay with her co-worker, and Akiko good friend and her husband was there to take her to the graduation ceremony. Akiko was glad that Iva was able to take her trip she has worked so hard to provide for them she deserved the trip.

Their joyous occasions were the week of June 17, 1977 Akiko will never forget what it felt like be a High School graduate. Akiko was proud of herself while in school she worked at the skating rink. This too was a great accomplishment. During the final Semester Akiko took her ACT test and did well Akiko wanted to go to a college in Nashville. Iva raised Akiko in the Church.

Akiko has been in church all her life, even as a youngster Akikos mother and father lived a life of Godliness before her. She loved how the worship service was conducted; they would sing songs of praise to God. Iva and Akiko attended Church of Christ. In North Nashville. They attended the 8 o’clock service and Sunday school was at 9:30. At 11:00, they were done with our Sunday worship. It was good, they had the rest of the day to relax and prepare for the next week.

Most of the time they would go back for 6:00 service, the Pastor was a good and honest man, who loves Jesus was their teacher. The youth program was the best they did many great things her favorite was singing, God gave her a voice to sing his praise Akiko sang Soprano; she had so many friends for years, Hailey, Cody, Dale, Ruben, Byron.

They all grew up together some went to another Church of Christ. We’ll all that Akiko have mentioned were members of a state wide choir these friendships were ordained by God they had so much fun growing up together. In the summer they would travel to a designated place to sing they would stay in a hotel for a week it was the best, Akiko was a member of the Harmonizers they all sang acappella.

They could really sing, one of the best in the country. These times in Akiko’s life were just the best so many memories of rehearsals and car washes and picnics; she loved her friends very much, as
