About this ebook
This book is about falling in love for the first time and losing my mother the same year. It will show you how this young man helped me thru one of the toughest times of my life along with his parents. Also, it shows how I thought I knew what I was doing after I graduated from high school only to have to change my mind in a short period of time. I then fantasized about how I wished how my life had gone in a different direction.

I have always been naive with little self-esteem. I did surprise myself when I found out what a good imagination I had when I started writing this book. The words just came to me. I went to Business School when my daughters were in Middle School and High School. I received an Associates Degree in Computerized Accounting Management. I have been teaching Sunday School for 26 years to children ages three years old to third grade.

21542.png1960 WAS A BITTERSWEET YEAR for me. I fell in love for the first time and my mother passed away that year. I had just celebrated my 16th birthday and she had a nice birthday party for me at the Y.M.C.A. I was allowed to invite my friends and we all had a good time. We had fun dancing to the music of our era. In hindsight, I would have changed a few things. Mainly, I thought I had to have this purple dress for the party and when I think back about that dress, I really didn’t like it at all. Actually I felt uncomfortable in it.
A couple of weeks later we went to the HOP at the Y and I met this wonderful boy named Jack. We had a good time dancing. We probably danced to most of the slow songs and I looked forward to many more dances with him. He walked me home that night.
Jack and I went to the Hop on Saturday nights and we saw each other in school. We also passed notes to each other. Our Junior/Senior Prom was the beginning of May but I couldn’t take Jack because he wasn’t a Junior or Senior. I was a big American Bandstand Fan and I wrote to some of the regulars on the show. My mother suggested I take one of the boys on the show, so I wrote and asked him to go and he said,Yes
! I really
