    Intro

So, they moved to California from Puerto Rico in kind of at the drop of a hat after his grandfather tragically died in the home bathroom from a heart attack. His mother, two sisters, and him, Junn or Junito. His older sister is three years older than him, his younger sister is five years younger and him, of course, Junito who was 9 years old at this time. Even though they were moving for all the bad reasons, they were all very excited about the new home place. His mother and younger sister left a few months prior to somewhat prepare for the older sister and Junn to get there. His Mom and younger sister left Puerto Rico around January 1990. The older sister and him (Junito or Junn) left around June that same year and what a plane ride that was. He was really nervous and anxious to get there. It is a very long plane ride from Puerto Rico to California. The flight most have been around 10 hours. Anyways, he remembers embarrassing his older sisters a couple of times on the way there. Asking silly questions and things like that. Then again, the older sister is easily embarrassed. They are both over 40 now and he still gives her a hard time to this day. He loves seeing her react to an embarrassing moment.

When they left Puerto Rico in the early 1990, he was in the fourth grade. Therefore, when he got to Cali, he was going to the fifth grade. Moving to California was definitely a challenge and one of the hardest things he had done in his whole life. Number one, he could not speak the language. He was fluent in Spanish and did not know squat of English. Number two, he no longer had all his cousins that he grew up with. Number three, he was not familiar with anything or anyone. When they got there his mom lived in a small two-bedroom apartment
