    The Parables of treasure-Jesus Christ

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. A man found it, hid it again, then in great joy went and sold everything he owned, and bought that field.45 Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for fine pearls. 46 On finding one very valuable pearl he went away, sold everything he owned and bought it.47 Once more, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a net thrown into the lake, that caught all kinds of fish. 48 When it was full, the fishermen brought the net up onto the shore, sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad fish away. 49 So it will be at the close of the age — the angels will go forth and separate the evil people from among the righteous 50 and throw them into the fiery furnace, where they will wail and grind their teeth. Matt 13:44-49 (CJB)

    Go Deeper

A small company in the early days of gold mining in South Africa sank shaft after shaft in different locations, finding only a small amount of gold in each shaft. Ultimately, the prospectors discovered that all they needed to have done was to go deeper in the first shaft for, as they did so, they found gold in abundance. Roy Hession writes that he has found this to be true in the spiritual life also. I testify that although I have tried all sorts of different shafts, hoping for greater results in my life, Christ has now become the end of all my searching. Revival for me has meant coming back to the place where I first began, and I intend to stay there. Tell me not of any other way. I need to go deeper at His cross-much deeper. – Source Unknown

    The Supposes

There was a poor woman who earned her living by hard labor but who was a joyous, triumphant Christian. Ah, Nancy, said a gloomy Christian lady to her one day, it is well to be happy now, but I should think the thoughts of the future would sober you. Suppose, for instance, you should have a spell of sickness and be unable to work, or suppose your present employer should move away and no one would give you a job. Suppose…. Stop! cried Nancy. I never suppose. The Lord is my Shepherd, and I know I shall not want. You know, dear, it is all those supposes that are making you so miserable. You had better give them all up and just trust the Lord. – Source Unknown

    PREFACE

According to a 19th century legend, the Truth and the Lie meet one day. The Lie says to the Truth: It’s a marvellous day today! The Truth looks up to the skies and sighs, for the day was really beautiful. They spend a lot of time together, ultimately arriving beside a well. The Lie tells the Truth: The water is very nice, let’s take a bath together! The Truth, once again suspicious, tests the water and discovers that it indeed is very nice. They undress and start bathing. Suddenly, the Lie comes out of the water, puts on the clothes of the Truth and runs away. The furious Truth comes out of the well and runs everywhere to find the Lie and to get her clothes back. The World, seeing the Truth naked, turns its gaze away, with contempt and rage.

The poor Truth returns to the well and disappears forever, hiding therein, its shame. Since then, the Lie travels around the world, dressed as the Truth, satisfying the needs of society, because, the World, in any case, harbors no wish at all to meet the naked Truth. Jean-Léon Gérôme, 1896.

This book, Hidden Treasure, is to reveal to you the power in hidden treasure. It is to help you tap into the hidden treasures around you. To help you bring out your hidden talents. Researchers say that most humans do not use up to ten percent of their brain and imagination in their entire lifetime. Imagine a world where up to fifty percent of human brain and imagination are utilized …imagine how much more advanced technology and other great inventions of humankind would have been! I believe that the sort of motivation you gain from reading this book is what drives new innovations and discoveries. People now teach that there is a need to look inwards and bring out the gems in us.

Think of it, all that God put on the earth were animals and birds and one Man named Adam. However, hidden in Adam was Eve! It will be too early to reveal what is hidden in a woman represented by Eve. But it suffices to say that the combination of this great forefather and foremother even in their fallen spiritual state, provoked God to destroy the first generation of human beings. Imagine if Adam and Eve did not disobey God! Today the world population is over 7.5 billion and still counting all these human being were hidden in one couple!

Do you realize that all that you see on earth; structures, skyscrapers, trains, cars, planes and aircrafts, machinery, super computers, phones and so on were formerly hidden? The materials were hidden under the earth for centuries and the knowledge was hidden in human brains until we had the courage to tap into that Hidden Treasure. As you explore the world from today with your spiritual and intellectual binoculars, and even microscopes, be prepared to discover the hidden treasure in you. Be prepared to be one of the world creators and innovators. Be prepared to remold your life, marriage and career.

While this book focuses on how to discover your hidden treasure, you will agree with me that when you go to a restaurant to whet your appetite, they give you a starter!

The first journey to discovering your hidden treasure is developing your mind, what the bible calls transformation-‘be ye transformed by renewing your mind’; a phrase we hear about so often, nice as that advice sounds, the question is how do I renew my mind?

Three Ways To Renew your Mind:

    1. Recitation. We must read the word of God daily and commit scripture to memory. We must ensure that the word of God is a part of our daily lives . "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119;11 KJV Joshua echoes similar words "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Jos 1:8 KJV

    2. Realization. In other words, we have to come to the realization that a lot of times what we think is not in agreement with what God thinks and says: "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the spirit the things of the spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." Rom 8:5-7 KJV You need to align your thoughts with God’s thought.

    3. Exertion. We must put forth the effort to control what we think about, what we dream about, and what images we allow in our mind. Just like a physical trainer, we have to put forth effort in mental training. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things Phil 4:8. KJV Convert your thoughts into action.

This book is spaced out as follows: Chapter one, reveals the greatness of God and how that is manifested in human beings using Paul of Tarsus as a case study. Chapter two reveals to you the purpose of hidden treasure. Chapter three helps us realize that suffering has a purpose, that we should therefore not lose faith in the face of suffering. Chapter four enables individuals to explore, discover and extract wealth in dark and secret places. Chapter five will help the reader on how not to abuse treasure. Chapter six shows how you can use positive attitude to discover your hidden treasure. Chapter Seven is the shortest version of the story of my life and how I discovered the hidden treasure in me. Chapter eight is to help you discover the treasures in Christ and spread the message of Christ true humanity as you learn more about Jesus the greatest hidden treasure. Joycelyn Dankwa
