The Keys to Fulfilling Divine Purpose - Kazeem O Okosun

    Preface

In 2013, I met an elderly man at the university where I worked in South Africa. He was a security guard at the university and it was my first time seeing him. I was driving out through the university gate when he stopped me, looked straight into my face and said Your face is like a book where men read strange matters.

I never saw the man again. It was the first time anyone ever said such a thing to me, but it reminded me of two great visions I saw when I was young in faith sometime around1998/99.

In the first vision, I saw the heavens opened, and a big book was dropped down which I received with great joy. In the second vision, I saw an angel instructing me to write. I asked what I should write and he said LIFE. However, it was only after my encounter with the security guard that it occurred to me that God wants me to write books on the strange matters revealed to me. I call them strange matters because you may never have thought or read, or seen them presented the way that I am going to present the truth and the scriptures in this book. Just like Peter wrote concerning Paul’s epistles, 2 Peter 3:15-16, this book aims to give insight into the complex dynamics of visions, spirit of liberty and purpose, as well as the limitations of goals, freedom, and destiny.

Freedom does not mean you are FREE!

Visions are supreme to goals; liberty is of greater benefit than freedom and the breakthrough and impact of purpose supersede destiny. For a successful person, visions, the spirit of liberty and the pursuit of purpose are unbroken threefold cords that enable him to overcome the world.

    Understanding Goals and Visions

Without visions it will be very difficult to discover your purpose in life.

There is a big difference when comparing goals and visions. They are as far apart as the east to the west. It is unfortunate that many today confuse their goals to be their vision. Before we dive into to detailed discussions. Let look at some differences between goals and visions.

Men set goals; it is God that set or gives visions

Goals are physical, visions are spiritual

Goals end with the goal-setter, visions go beyond generations

A goal has no ability of self-accomplishment, a vision has the ability to fulfil itself (this means it will happen at the appointed time)

A goal can fail. There is no surety or guarantee. Visions do not fail. They are for an appointed time and will surely come to pass

Goals are human-dependent and need human effort to be fulfilled; visions are God-dependent and can only be fulfilled through God

With goals, nations still perish; with vision nations do not perish.

A goal has nobody running with it after the end of the goal-setter. That is, there is no continuity in goals. Nobody would want to run with somebody else goals or dreams. Visions have heralds running with them from generation to generation. There is continuity with vision.

Goals by themselves cannot appoint their own workmanship. Visions appoint their own workmanship, instruments, or vessels from one generation to another.

You can not discover or fulfil purpose through goals. But with visions, your purpose is visible and fulfillable.

However, goals can be used to set a conducive environment for vision to manifest or be fulfilled. In other words, goals can complement visions. Goals alone cannot take you far, vision with goals can.

    The hidden manna in vision

Visions create leaders. People or nations perish for lack of vision, not lack of leaders. They have leaders leading them with goals, but without a vision. Hence, the leaders’ purpose is not fulfilled.

Vision creates its own path to fulfilment. Once a man has a vision and set his or her heart at it, the vision itself creates events and occasions around the person to bring about its fulfilment in that person’s life. When a vision is in place, whatever happens in that person life will only lead to good outcomes and to the fulfilment of purpose. Everything comes together for good for a person with vision and of vision. But for a human without a vision whatever happens in that person’s life may not be for good and everything may not come together for the good. Therefore, the Bible says my people perish without a vision.

Vision gives and preserves lives. It saves people from perishing. Vision is God’s act of saving His people from destruction.

Psalms 119:144 : The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding and I shall live

Visions give an understanding of who God is and of what we need to do. Understanding is given through visions for us to live and not perish.

In John 3:16 : For God so love the world that He gave us His only begotten son, whosoever believes in the son shall not perish but have eternal life.

It is amazing and mysterious to see how the outcomes of visions and believing in Jesus Christ are the same. Visions save people from perishing. Without believing Jesus Christ people perish! Therefore, vision is spiritual. With vision, purpose is guaranteed to be fulfilled.

Hosea 12:10,13 : I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets. And by a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

God multiplied visions for the prophets because He rescued them by visions, and He preserved them by visions. The reason God’s prophets succeeded and became great was because God gave them many visions.

You wonder why it was very easy for God’s chosen prophets to please Him? The answer is VISIONS.

Hosea 4:6 : My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children

Proverb 29:18 : Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

What does perish mean? Perishing can mean:

    Cease to exist

    Fail to discover
