About this ebook

This book is a poignant, funny and practical survival guide on how to cope with the isolation-at-home aspect of the crisis. While nothing about people being sick and dying is humorous of course, we all need distractions so we don't lose our minds. This book provides tips and advice on productive ways to spend your time, rather than wasting it. No one wants ti wake up one day in August and say, "Gee, if only I had done something useful with those four months I was stuck at home."

    FOREWORD

The year 2020 will unfortunately be looked back upon by historians as the Year of the Coronavirus. As of this writing, we are just beginning to feel its tragic effect on our lives in the United States and throughout the world. Like no other news event in my lifetime, it has invaded our personal space tremendously. The massive unemployment, the closure of restaurants and schools and the stay-at-home orders cannot be ignored. Everyone has to pay some attention to the news to receive the latest information.

This book is a poignant, funny and practical survival guide on how to cope with the isolation-at-home aspect of this crisis. While nothing about people being sick and dying is humorous of course, we all need distractions so we don't lose our minds. This book provides tips and advice on productive ways to spend your time, rather than wasting it. No one wants to wake up one day in August and say, Gee, if only I had done something useful with those four months I was stuck at home.

The tips are divided into four categories: helping others, self-improvement, home improvement and entertainment. Obviously not every tip will apply to everyone. But my hope is there are a few here that apply to you and your family – and some that apply to everybody.

I would like to dedicate this project to all those who sadly lost their lives to this virus and their loved ones. I would also like to thank my contributor and editor Paul Franklin, designer Craig Zavetz, Andrea Kane,
