The Mystery - NG
THE MYSTERY
(ONLY GOD MADE IT POSSIBLE)
This play can be read by anyone. It does not have an age restriction.
Relationships come with diverse challenges and good moments. Some of the experiences are mixed depending on the circumstance. For example, giving birth to a baby is a difficult task, however, with the help of God, love and support from spouse, family, friends and medical personnel makes the journey more comfortable.
The mystery explains the story of how a woman gave birth to a baby without any support or help from anyone? Some people think is luck! Some are of the belief that the baby decided to come quickly? Some people think the hospital should be sued for negligence? Some people called it a miracle
(MYSTERY FROM GOD).
Did anyone imagine how the woman in such a state felt? Can anyone explain how this woman was able to cope through such traumatic state without any form of medical help? How did she manage such a circumstance? What could the hospital have done better?
Find out as you read the script - The Mystery
Act 1
SCENE 1
At sunrise behind the ray, you can see the bridge, and across the window, you will see simply furnished bedroom.
As we move them across the room, you see a man and woman in the bedroom. The lady is dressing up while the telephone rang briefly. The man switched the phone off with a sigh. He went back to the lady and touched her, but she didn’t respond in her usual happy mood. He went closer and held her hands.
FELIX
Are you okay?
EVA
I feel like a slave honestly.
FELIX
Don’t speak that way; you are not a slave.
EVA
It feels like imprisonment; I can’t wait for it to be over, God help me!
FELIX
You are only pregnant, don’t make it seem harder than it should be.
EVA
You are saying that because you do not know how I feel.
(He paused).
FELIX
(He pulls her closer to him in assurance and hugs her)
I may not know how you feel, but I know that words have strength.
EVA
Yeah, so right, the bible states that life and death are in the power of the tongue.
FELIX
Am glad you know (smiles at her).
EVA
Men are lucky (she smiles).
FELIX
Why do you say so?
EVA
Women go through the stages of pregnancy, but men don’t.
(There was a frown on her face).
FELIX
Hmm…we still have other responsibility, don’t rule us out so quickly.
(He smiles at her, touching her baby bump).
EVA
Such as sleeping or eating?
FELIX
Do you think men are babies? (laughs).
EVA
You are my big and number one baby (she touches Felix on the head just as you will do for a baby).
FELIX
(Felix leaves his bed and walks to the kitchen).
Where is my food?
EVA
(She yells from the room with a smile curled round her face).
No food for a lazy man.
FELIX
I am not lazy, just waiting for my appointment and I will leave the house.
EVA
(Walking towards the kitchen to heat up his
