Ian Wilcox is a 50+ London born man of many thoughts Although I have been penning verse for over 40 years, it was just a hobby that passed some time. Following a Heart attack and Stroke that left me, among other things, registered visually Impaired I made poetry a reason to learn to adapt so that I could write again. I have a loving Partner and Daughter who are both from the Philippines and are the reason that I smile everyday Messages for Mj is my second Book project this year following the publication of Letters to Lodieta

To
Andrew Jones
My dear valued friend and awesome poetic Brother
The man may be something different
That I do not care
The man is a living marvel
Of one who chose to dare
The person is a friend of mine
That I’m glad off
The next stage of literature we will see
When of my own shall scoff
Andrew is the yet undiscovered
Though has put some works in print
Check him out for yourself
It will make you think
Things like what you know
Things like what you don’t
Things that you are willing to
Things you think you won’t
50597.pngTHE INQUIRY
50606.png50622.pngBLISS FULLNESS IN BLUE
To Andrew Jones
My poetic Brother
No matter what you’re thinking
No matter what you do
There’s a certain sense of comfort
Bliss fullness in blue
The tranquillity of water
The reassurance that is sky
The time to reflect on stuff
Without a reason why
The pause of cause without applause
The step back for oneself
The tranquillity of reality
The boost to ones own health
An hour here or maybe day
Longer if am blessed
The sublime restful time
Away from livings test
Oh how I yearn for it again
Stuck in concrete jungle with limited view
To see again the open spaces
To see again but new
That sense of self abandonment
That sense of being free
That relaxing of the daily constraints
That confine both you and me
Bliss fullness in blue waters
Bliss fullness in blue sky
Bliss fullness in blue horizons
Not you see just why
50622.pngAN APPLE IN THE
ACORN PATCH
Climate change seems so strange
Nothing as do know
The climate is a lottery
One day, different seasons show
Sun and rain then Sun again
While a cold wind does blow
Snow could loom before Noon
Though not yet on show
Deception Moms intention
Mother Nature mean
For given up on forecasts
From them nothing glean
Just take on-board and shall not hoard
No need for panic buying
Mix of Sales and possibly Hale
Things are surely trying
Vegetation in hesitation
Not sure quite what to do
Now am witnessing strange sights
Viewing that’s that new
An Apple in the Acorn patch
Would be of no surprise
The way that things are happening
Acceptance would be wise
T-shirt and a thick coat
Tucked Hood and pair of gloves
A pair of well dubbed comfy shoes
Mother Nature can have some shoves
Crankiness in the cranial collection
I am not mad
That’s pure perception
Maybe slightly
On reflection
Had a mishap
Did I mention
Some crankiness in the cranial collection
Things are different - That is true
Can’t now do what once did do
Guess that somehow gives a clue
Almost but not quite same as you
Sit and stare but don’t see
That’s a part of new me
Look the same way but have changed
Getting over something strange
Fizz, fizz phut at the start
Plip plop gone came along
Made decision, became a vision
Nothing stops you when think strong
Different yes but the same
Still enjoying the new game
Still old me with still same name
Still avoiding things called Fame
Who needs ‘perfect’?
When not known
Who is judge
If not own
Free to think
Yes they are
Near and yonder
Close and far
Me? I just have some crankiness in the cranial collection
50622.pngJUST MAKE BELIEVE
Never give up
On just what you believe
No never give up
However hard life seems
No matter your disability
Of the affliction you have
Never given up on your dream but make it
A reality
______________________________
Never give up
On all you do each day
Writing about life
And things seen each day
Faces of people both
The young and the old
All have a life’s story
Waiting to be told
Andrew Jones
50622.pngCLAPHAM JUNCTION
(OR THAT FUNCTION)
Decision, decision, decision
Too young for doing this
Free drinks with an old un
Or possible young kiss
Work function that should attend
Or Nightclub that’s so good
One is guaranteed to feed
The other understood
Why do I have to choose
Not ready for this yet
I’m in my prime and world is mine
Grabbing what can get
Clapham Junction or that function
Why both on Saturday night
Misery with pleasantly
Or the chance to fight
Work’s okay so they say
Why mix thought out of it
Everyone pretending
None though give a shit
Free drinks but costs the staying
When outside mates are playing
Dress up with the unmentionables
Know just what I’m saying
No ‘talent’ here is what I fear
Unless someone’s brought their Daughter
Yet with the Bloke who thinks it joke
Between us will be slaughter
Clapham Junction come to Croydon
At least that part I miss
Give this doo something new
If you get my gist
50622.pngFOR NEW PASTURES
The man did gently slip away
With hand held by loving Wife
Was the time when no Master
Had to go for new pastures
Five Two years had been together
In that time were parted never
This time though had no choice
So did slip after did voice
"If you love me please don’t cry
When I now have to say Goodbye
For is for short time not forever
Until again we are together
Just am going to pastures new
Something some time all must do
Just gone ahead and this time led
Taking chance to make our bed
Where again we will both lie
Soon my dear so please don’t cry"
The Lady choking back her tears
Leant and kissed him so dear
Said to him in reply
As he went with gentle sigh
"Yes I love you so wont cry
For this is not our Goodbye
Yes I’ll join you very soon
Will be just like a Honeymoon
Then will never part again
Then neither will feel this pain
For will be joined in new pastures
When only good things are our Masters"
50622.pngFEAST AND FULFILMENT
Join me on this bro I say
For together let words play
Feast, and your halls are crowded,
Succeed and give, and it you live
But no man can help you die,
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a large and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain
Laugh, and the world laughs with you,
Weep, and you weep alone,
The sad old earth must borrow its mirth,
But has trouble enough of it
