"Kia Ora, Kia Ora! I have come into New Zealand ☺ Woohoo!! I flew in on Monday and have been greeted by Mum and Lee with open arms. I’m feeling great right now and I am blessed to have a great family here in Wangaz. I’ve spoken to the community health team today and we have organised a meeting time for next Friday for them to administer my next injection for my drug-induced psychosis. Oh my goodness! I’m psychotic! Hahaha I need to get over my delusional past and focus on a healthy future. Working and building friendships will do me well. Exercise the body and mind. Showing kindness and giving a piece of myself could help me grow.

Could I help you? Love you! <3"

This book is based on my diary written from 2008-2016. The words and stories written within are based on my truth as a person struggling with mental illness. My name is Emiria Walker. I was born on April 1986 to Helen and George Walker. I was whangai’d to Amelia Walker nee Maiden and Mill Walker. I was diagnosed with drug induced psychosis in 2006 at the age of 20 while living in Sydney, Australia.

This is my story from then.

"I am quick to learn new skills, also I am able to apply my known skills to any situation. It is important to me to have good ethics in the workplace, to which I dutifully give and gladly accept from others. I have secondary education in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, as well as English, Languages, Maths, Accounting and Home Economics. I believe that whatever job I do I should be happy at as work is a big part of my life and I should be happy with what role I perform in the position.

Thank you for your time and consideration and I hope to get the chance to work with you in the near future."

This is a draft copy of a resume I had written at this time to improve my chances of getting a job. Unbeknown to me I would be out of work from 2008-2015.

Christmas parties have begun. Lewis Building and co. Christmas party was last Saturday – 12.12.09. A few hot guys and heaps of Maori. Mean hangi and lovely people. Writing down my thoughts and feelings may help me to move forward. My fingers are sore already from writing – thumb.

    I’ll work it out"

At this point in time I had moved out of aunty K’s wee flat and into a boarding house in Caniperuse. I had, had an experience with a unique looking male named R. back in 2007, while living in Sydney, Australia. He was the 2iC and he had fired me from my job on the night of my 21st birthday. I had remembered him ever since then.

I believe I had witnessed him randomly walking into the pub I was playing poker at in Porirua. Unbelievable as it seemed I did not take that opportunity to approach him and make conversation as it did not occur to me
