About this ebook

In this world, Christians are in a constant spiritual battle, and one common problem facing Christians is our use of time. We can feel frustrated with the demands placed on our time, and between work, family, and ministry, our service can even begin to feel like a burden. But what is time? How should we spend our time? Whose time is it anyway?
In Time for Christ, author Gil Jacobs presents seven Christian principles to help you be a good steward of your time. In an age when we experience increasing demands on our time, this book presents a strategy for using your time in a God-pleasing way, so we can claim God’s promise: “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30).
When we accept God’s gracious gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, we become his adopted daughters and sons. Just as we love and care for our own children, God loves and cares for us. But just as children, we must spend time with our heavenly Father to live lives that please and glorify him. Time for Christ will show you how to glorify God and enjoy your relationship with him as you apply his principles of time stewardship in your life.

    About the Author

This book is dedicated to Christ Jesus, my Lord and Savior, who, being in very nature God … humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross (Philippians 2:6–8) to pay the penalty for my sins (Romans 5:8) so I could have eternal life and enjoy being with Him forever.

    Acknowledgments

D uring my seventy-three years on this earth, God has placed many people in my path to encourage me and help me on my spiritual journey. Although I cannot name everyone, I would like to acknowledge some who have had a significant impact on my spiritual development and inspired me to write and now publish this book with the hope that it will be a help to those who seek to honor Christ with their time.

From the beginning, my parents, Ruth and Gill Jacobs, dedicated me through baptism and encouragement to become a Christian. Pastor Chell was a guide and teacher who taught and affirmed my salvation though Lutheran catechism. Then there were the dry years when I was not growing spiritually, until Bill Matthews challenged me about my offensive language, which resulted in renewing my spiritual growth through personal Bible study and church attendance.

After a series of life-changing events, I came to the point where I needed help leading the Christian life. God responded to my prayers by bringing Chuck Fox into my life to disciple me. Since then I have been blessed with many Christian friends through joining the Gideon ministry, Christian
