About this ebook
I began writing more poems and found that I really enjoyed it. Some of the poems touch on events many are familiar with, such as the Great Depression, World War II, the World Series earthquake, and the turbulent sixties, which I share from my perspective. I hope you will find them entertaining, relatable, and fun to read.
Writing about my girlhood and also about our times as a family has made me more conscious than ever of how the Lord has blessed and has had his hand on me all my life. He has had his hand on our family as well, and we really did have a fun time together.
I feel privileged to share my life with you. I hope it blesses you.

I first taught on the Feasts of Israel when I taught classes in adult Sunday school, and later at Northern California Bible College. That was in San Jose, California. I enjoyed it immensely, and learned a lot through teaching. That is usually the way it is. It was especially rewarding to see what I was teaching “strike a chord” with someone! Through my teaching and taking classes at Bible College for several years, I was able to earn my Bachelor’s Degree. I had earned my Associate’s Degree while at the University of California in Berkeley years earlier. My husband Norman and I were both ordained while in San Jose. I wrote my first book, “Reflections,” as a memorial and tribute to my husband, Norman, who left me for heaven in January of 2018. We lived in San Jose, California, for the first forty years of our marriage. In 1997 we moved to Mariposa, California, where I presently live. My daughter Sara is my caregiver.

Dedication
I dedicate my book to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, praying that He can use it for His kingdom and for the advancement of His plan for mankind. My greatest desire for over fifty years has been to please Him and serve Him all my days.
I also dedicate my book to my beloved husband Norman, who went to be with his Savior on January 28, 2018. He was my faithful companion and best friend for over 61 years – and we went on an incredible journey together!
I enjoyed his personality so much….we laughed together, and often at ourselves and each other. I would advise any couple to ALWAYS keep a sense of humor – and NEVER take yourself too seriously. I wish for any couple to have the relationship we had.
I also dedicate my book to my four precious children – Diana, Matthew, John and Sally (Sara). I love you with all my heart and pray for you all the happiness, favor and love that the Lord bestowed on your father and me.
Introduction
My husband Norman died on January 28, 2018. I wrote the first poem, Norman and Family,
in honor of him. I actually wrote the short poem Summer
a couple of weeks before, expressing my dislike of summer in our mountain area. I had been stung by yellowjackets six or seven times a few days earlier. Several people said I should publish it!
I began writing more poems and finding that I really enjoyed it. Some of the poems touch on events many are familiar with – such as The Great Depression, World War II, the World Series earthquake, the turbulent sixties – which I share from my perspective. I hope you will find them entertaining, relatable and fun to read.

Norman, Our Family And I
We met in San Francisco, fell in love and married there.
We enjoyed our time in the city, excitement everywhere.
Six months later he was moved to the office in San Jose,
Where for 40 years we would make our home, to live and work and play.
We expected a child, but about that time, two Carolines stole the show:
One, the daughter of JFK, and the princess of Monaco.
But we were so proud of our baby girl with blue eyes and golden hair;
We named her Diana and she was to us a princess sweet and fair.
Three years later we were blessed with our precious baby son.
We named him Matthew; he turned out to be
