    INTRODUCTION

Sometimes in life, difficult situations will arise, and we may find ourselves questioning God. I’m not talking about, I have a headache today, God why do I have to have a headache? and I’m not talking about, My feelings are hurt, God why does my feelings have to be hurt?

I’m talking about the kind of difficulty that doesn’t just hurt you, but crushes you. I’m talking about the kind of pain that hurts so bad, and stays so long that you just become numb.

People all over the world are faced with numbing hurt every day. The kind of pain that will make a person say, I just don’t know what to do. I can’t do this. I can’t make it. I can’t go on, this is too much. I feel like I’m suffocating. I just want to die.

Recent news stories tell us that many people would rather die, than to go through what they are facing. Some people attempt suicide, and some succeed. Some people go on a rampage in an effort to hurt others, and some just hurt in hopes that someday things will change for the good. Someday it will all be over.

Here is what I love about God during life’s challenges. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, He informed Paul that His grace is sufficient! He said, For my power is made perfect in weakness.

This means, whatever you are going through, God is yet there, He has full control. Your struggle was not allowed just to make you weak, but to strengthen you. It hasn’t been allowed to take you out, but to bring you in. Neither has it been allowed to destroy you, but to make you. The Grace of God is more than enough for you.

    My Grace is Sufficient!

Everything that God allows is for a purpose. We don’t always know what that purpose is, but God knows. We don’t always understand, but God does. We can’t always see our way out, but God can. We were formed in the womb for a specific purpose. So then, everything that we face in this life builds and prepares us for the purpose that God has for us. Nothing that we go through is pointless-it all works together for our good.

    My Grace is Sufficient!

In this book, we take a look at the life of a young girl named Layla Martin, who persevered through a number of tough situations. She was hurt, abused, and felt as if she had no reason to live. Day after day, year after year; there was hurt after hurt. Crushing and debilitating hurt-of which she could see no way out. Until of course, she surrendered her life to God.

    A SNAPSHOT

    Stop! Please stop Momma!

    I’m sorry! Please Stop!

What did I do that was this bad?"

Those were the thoughts that raced through Layla’s mind as her mother fought her. This happened often, but Layla never fought back. She was afraid that fighting back; or saying anything, would only make things worse. Layla didn’t want revenge. She loved her mother, and only wanted her to stop.

Along with the physical abuse, Layla’s mother would cuss her out completely; calling her every name that a person might want to call their worst enemy, but certainly not their daughter.

As Layla grew older, she began to realize, that most of what her mother did; was not necessarily things that she could control on her own. Her mother acted according to what was in her. Negative was going in, so surely negative is what was coming out.

Layla- feeling her way through life; quickly began to indulge in a number of adult behaviors. All of which, were approved, accepted, introduced, and encouraged by her mother. The lifestyle that
