Yearly Align Life - Bastion Bordeaux
SECTION A YEARS
Section A examines the value of your activities from a yearly perspective.
This Section has been divided into a number of Chapters and Steps which provide a system to ascertain the importance of the activities that you have completed during the year.
A yearly perspective is created by listing your most important activities completed during the year.
Join with me as we examine and discuss the value of your years.
CHAPTER 1
YEARS
Step A: Create a ‘Years’ List:
This ‘Step’ involves creating a ‘Years’ List, and this can be achieved by creating the List in an: iPad, iPod, iPhone, Laptop, Notebook, Tablet, or Desk Top Computer or another electronic device. My preferred location is in a Word Document in a Notebook.
The concept of creating a ‘Years’ List is that the List is the beginning of a framework to list, and then ascertain the value of tasks or activities completed towards your Life Goals.
As such for this ‘Step’ we create a page as follows in Table 1:
Table 1
Step B: List the years in a Decade:
This ‘Step’ involves the listing of years in a Decade.
There are two main ways to create the ‘Years’ List in reference to the order of the years with one of those ways being to list the lower number years at the top of the page, and higher number years at the bottom of the page. Another way which is my preferred version is to list the lower numbers at the bottom of the page, and the higher numbers at the top of the page.
One of the reasons for having the higher numbers of years at the top of the page is that as the ‘Years’ List is updated the higher numbers as the years go by are at the top of the list, and therefore more accessible for listing entries. This is of course personal preference, and both ways are mentioned for your consideration.
Listing the years in a Decade allows our Table to be updated to thus appear as Table 2:
Table 2
As a discussion point, there has been a lot of discussion over the centuries as to when a Decade may start. There are some that say that a Decade starts on a year ending with a ‘0’, with still others saying that the Decade starts on a year ending with a ‘1’. The varying viewpoints are left to the various Commentators, and have started the above ‘Years’ List at a year ending with a ‘0’ for ease of listing.
Step C: List your Main Goal Headings and Sub Goals in the ‘Years’ List:
This ‘Step’ involves listing your Main Goal Headings and Sub Goals in the ‘Years’ List.
The Term ‘Sub Goal’ relates to the location of goals contained within a particular Main Goal Heading (MGH) and not emphasis as to their priority within a MGH.
The suggestion is that you list the Main Goal Headings and Sub Goals at the bottom of the ‘Years’ List for two reasons: One of the reasons is that the various years listed are where most of the action is going to be taking place in relation to recording the tasks/activities completed in achieving the Sub Goals; Another reason is that the details in Main Goal Headings and Sub Goals are not envisaged to change as often as entries in the various years in the ‘Years’ List.
For our discussions have created example Main Goal Headings and Sub Goals which have been listed below:
BUSINESS:
B1: Creating a new Product for the Market.
B2: Adding another Product Range in existing Business.
B3: Selling more of the products in the existing Product Range.
CELEBRATIONS:
C1: Attending Weddings & Receptions.
C2: Attending Birthday Parties.
C3: Attending Family Functions.
MENTAL:
M1: Obtain a Degree.
M2: Updating Computer Skills.
M3: Methods for increasing memory.
PHYSICAL:
P1: Healthy eating.
P2: Fitness Level.
P3: Attending a Gym.
WEALTH:
W1: Have three Investment Properties.
W2: Have two Investment Properties.
W3: Have one Investment Property.
Following the rationale of having the Main Goal Headings and Sub Goals listed at the bottom of the ‘Years’ List our Table can continue to take shape as displayed in Table 3:
Table 3
Step D: Add Priority Numbers below the Years:
This ‘Step’ involves adding Priority Numbers below the years and in our example Sub Goals have priorities of: ‘1,2,3’.
It could be that you have more than three priorities for your Sub Goals however for illustration purposes have started with the example Sub Goal Priorities contained within the example Main Goal Headings.
Recording the numbers below the years allows for the listing of tasks/activities completed for the achievement of particular Sub Goals.
Adding the Priority Numbers below the years listed allows the ‘Years’ List to continue to take shape as seen in Table 4:
