Life Goals can mean various things to different people, however one component is common to everyone in that there is a finite amount of time available to accomplish Goals. It is therefore imperative to establish what is the most important Life Goal, what are Main Goals, and priorities to ensure that the Tasks and/or Activities done on a daily basis move towards achieving the Life Goal, and Main Goals. In an every changing world what is also important is a system which allows for Goals within the Main Goals to be updated in the form of additions, alterations to the wording, and amendments to the priorities or strategies to achieve the goals creating flexibility in the process. INTRODUCTION
One of the challenges people may have is to gain clarity for their Life Goals, firstly in identifying their Life Goals, and secondly to prioritise their Life Goals. In an every changing world the third component is the flexibility to adjust/update their goals and priorities to keep pace with change.
Through our journey is to be examined the meanings of various Terms to aid in our understanding of Whole of Life Goals, and the practical steps to identify, achieve and update the Goals.
Whole of Life Goals relates to the various areas in your life so that you can be aware of how to achieve balance in your life considering the many competing calls for your attention and effort.
This book also examines methods to identify your most important Life Goal, a process that may be life changing.
The book has been compiled in a Chapter and ‘Step’ order and is designed to be read from Introduction to Conclusion.
CHAPTER 1
IDENTIFYING LIFE GOALS
For the following ‘Steps’ I have created a Note in an Ipod, alternatively you may wish to set up a page in a iPhone, Laptop/Notepad, Tablet, or Desk Top computer, or other electronic device of your personal preference.
Step 1: List Main Goal Headings:
This ‘Step’ involves listing a number of Main Goal Headings. The concept of listing Main Goal Headings relates to creating a one word Heading Name for Main Life Goals being the main areas in your life.
There are a number of Areas in your life and you could give consideration to some of the following example components in determining your Main Goal Headings:
• Accommodation requirements.
• Business endeavours.
• Career aspirations.
• Community involvement.
• Family Activities.
• Finances in operating the Household Budget.
• Physical wellbeing.
• Social Functions that you may attend such as Birthdays and Weddings.
• Studies that you may be doing for either Personal Development or Tertiary Studies
