Peace in a Troubled World: A Fairy Tale
()
About this ebook
I hope that reading this book will give you some inspiration to do some writing yourselves. I have aimed it at people who suffer mental health issues, but I would like to think that anybody, whatever their background, will find it of some interest too.
My interest of English fairy folklore and pagan Britain, I find it truly fascinating. Writing this short story have really helped me think about the kind of world and what path I would like to take in the future.
A nature based religion is the way forward in my opinion. I would like to think that in the near future, all religions of the world could live in peace as one. There would be no more wars and bloodshed. We would all live in peace. We can only live in hope. Blessed be.

My name is STEVEN LESLIE GOLDING and I live in Bristol. I now live on my own since the loss of my dear beloved parents who I miss so much. I was very lucky to have had such a loving Mum and Dad. I like to believe like the Shamans that we will meet our loved ones when we die, that’s what is keeping me going. Sadly I do suffer severe mental health problems and I take medication to help control my mood patterns. It is a living nightmare. I hope this story will give you some inspiration to maybe do some writing yourself. I am aiming this story at people with mental health conditions like myself, but anyone can read it too. My inspiration is the lovely town of Glastonbury. I visit there most weekends, everyone makes me feel so welcome here. It is a lovely friendly spiritual town. Many thanks. Blessed be.

About The Author
I want to dedicate this book to my wonderful Mum and Dad, Margaret and Leslie Golding.
39832.pngINTRODUCTION
39848.pngP eace in a troubled world, wouldn’t that be wonderful. I think Life is far too short for all this strife. When you turn on the news all you can hear is bad news all the time. There only ever seems to be about one item of good news and all the rest is trouble, what is it all about, I don’t know?
I believe we should all try to get along whilst we are on this apocalyptic planet. I believe all races and religions should come together and live as one. Sadly I don’t ever think this is at all possible but we can only live in hope.
In this piece of writing what I am trying to do is imagine what it would actually be like to live in a world without fighting politician’s wars. I think it is wrong for any leader to have the rights to send innocent men and woman to what could be their death.
Wars only bring heartache to families and cutting lives short, I think that is appalling. So I have decided to write my account of events and write a story on a peaceful world without wars and illness and murder and crime.
You might think to yourself what the point of doing that is, and what it will achieve. I think it would like a form of escapism, in our very stressful lives.
Sadly I have mental health issues and I hear a disturbing voice in my head, and I have to take antidepressants and antipsychotic medication to help control them. I would actually love to escape this voice and intrusive thoughts. So my point is reading a story about a peaceful world would do me good and help take my mind off my disturbing voice.
So I hope that when you read this I hope it will take your mind off your troubles.
39832.pngCHAPTER 1
39848.pngO nce upon a time in a world far away from what we know today in a beautiful enchanted garden miles from this planet lived some peace loving folk that just wanted a peaceful life, and nothing more. These lovely folk just wanted world peace and be able to grow all their organic fruit and vegetables on their wonderful non contaminated Fertile land. This land has never had any toxic chemicals added to it, it was completely organic. These wonderful folk were all vegans and led a very healthy life style. They were almost self-sufficient. They had orchards and made their own cider and apple juice, and baked lovely apple pies and much more. This all sounds like a wonderful dream and sounded far too good to be true, that’s when your imagination will come in. I know it all sounds too good to be true but this is a form of escapism that we all need. I believe that we all need some form of fantasy to help take our minds off all our troubles on a regular basis. My philosophy is to help others when I can. I try to give a little too homeless people, just a pound or two now and then I think is good. I can’t do this all the time because I am only on benefits myself because of my mental health condition, but I think every little helps. Really no one should ever find their selves on the streets it is very sad when this happens. In an ideal world I would not have to put up with hearing disturbing voices and nor should anyone for that matter. Getting back to these lovely folk in their organic gardens there should also be no garden pests that attack our lovely fruit and vegetables. So if that were the case people would not have to use these nasty pesticides. I also believe these pesticides are killing our bee community that is not right. THINK GREEN.
My name is Steven and the way I would like to tell this story is to put myself in the story, so I will play the main character. I will play the head gardener who befriends a fairy in the garden. One fine morning when I started my morning shift in the garden I had just stopped to have my cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit and a fairy appeared. I was quite taken too because I had never met a fairy before. She said hello kind sir nice to meet you. I said oh hello nice to meet you too. I said would you like to join me for a cup of tea, oh yes thank you so much that is very kind of you. I said it is so nice to meet you do you come this way often. She said oh yes I live with all my other fairy friends we live underground not too far from here. I replied oh that’s great. After about ten minutes or so she said I have to go now but I will see you again and with that she flew off. I carried on with my tidying round the borders and thought how lucky I was to meet the friendly fairy. After that I went to the greenhouse to water the tomatoes and chili plants that seemed to be growing well. Later that afternoon when we were all having our tea break I told the other gardeners that I saw a very friendly fairy. They said oh yes they frequently visit us it cheers up our day when they visit. As it was only my second week working hear what a surprise.
At the end of the day I decided to go to the local pub for a pint or two. I got talking to a few of the locals there and told them about the fairy folk. They said oh yes we see them all the time they are very friendly. I thought how lucky I had landed such a rewarding job, especially meeting the fairy. It was like a dream come true.
The next day in the garden I started to earth the potatoes up in the adjacent field, they seemed to be growing well. We grow main crop potatoes in our fields we have rows of them.
I had been working hard in the garden for the past few hours, so I thought I would stop for a cup of tea. As I poured out my tea the fairy appeared and she said Hi I see your potatoes are doing well. I said Hi thank you very much. Would you like a cup of tea and a biscuit? That sounds great she said
