Follow Your Heart - Savita Sahni
1.
I ride on a floating cloud,
To reach you speedily, no doubt.
I wish to hold you tight.
I have missed you day and night.
You are my Sky,my Earth, my Moon.
Without you I feel marooned.
My life stays color less.
My heart is not mine, you bet.
I cannot live without you a while.
My mind goes back in time.
Past touches present becoming future.
I just press the link.
A full version is visible.
We grow into a family circle.
That brings a smile on my face,
Never know when we’ll be together again.
2.
Whenever I feel a little upset,
I Just say a prayer.
And I begin to feel better.
My faith in Him is my strength.
I have control over me,
I move towards my destination.
My footsteps aren’t shaky.
I am more sure of me.
God keeps guiding me always.
My faith never sways.
I chant his name again and again,
Seeking his blessings not just in pain.
He never turns me down,
I feel His presence around.
My life proceeds without many hurdles.
Even if there are countless obstacles.
I collect strength to overcome them.
My prayers never go in vain.
3.
Going shopping with her is so much fun.
You get to go to every outlet, for one.
She breezes into a fashion nook or cranny,
Shuffling and reshuffling all kinds of dresses.
Flairs, tights,skirts, tops and tees,
Indian shirts and lowers, gowns and sarees.
While she is glued to the scene,
You just wait patiently.
You are itching to have coffee and cup cakes.
You sneak out to look for a café.
Spotting one you come back.
She is still at it collecting several bags.
You help her out.
She is keen to go around.
We decide to take a much needed break.
Catch up with the café
Have Choco muffins and Frappuccino.
After the sinful treat,
We resume shopping,
Buy endless accessories.
Jewels, cosmetics,heels
Thank God we have Debit or Credit cards.
It saves you having to carry a heavy money bag.
If God didn’t create woman,
Man will continue to remain a savage.
No dressing up for any occasion.
No shopping for make-over stuff.
Thank God eve is there in all her splendor.
The world is enchanting for lovelorn men.
4.
When you have loved and lost,
You keep wondering what went wrong.
What tornadoes waged their war,
What rains lashed your heart.
How can somebody move on quietly?
How can he trivialize you so heartlessly?
Why does a woman trust so easily?
Why can’t she just know a man’s psychology?
A man may utter ‘I love you’,
Just to be able to touch you.
A man may charm you,
He will soon trap you.
Beware his sweet tactics.
He will always take time to commit.
He buys a dozen ‘I Love you’ cards.
For his numerous sweet hearts.
The one who pleases his family,
Takes the cake and gets to marry him.
5.
You go through meandering streets,
Measuring life with unknown retreats.
Here you scaled the peak,
Here you slid down a steep hill.
Always moving ahead,
Aiming to make it work.
Often you cried with pain,
You got to enjoy too its gains.
You couldn’t afford to stop,
To take a break to refill your lot.
God has designed you in a certain way.
It has plans to let you enjoy your stay.
Think of new thoughts,
Which fit you in a certain slot.
Your life will have meaning,
If you do things which are life enhancing.
You needn’t toe the line.
You have the potential to shine.
Brush up your act.
To outshine everybody else.
God gives his blessings to all.
Believe in him to last.
Your steps will feel lighter.
You in life will be taller.
Leave regrets behind.
Do have wings to fly.
Your efforts never die.
They add to your profile.
Live your life giant size.
6.
When I am with you,
I keep looking up to you.
When you are away,
I wonder how to manage my day.
You have become a habit with me.
Day in and day out I depend on you for everything.
Without realizing it,I have got involved deeply.
It is only your love that makes me tick.
I do not understand what makes people unique.
They are all humans,
Men and women.
Similar yet so different.
I guess their souls are different.
Their emotions and thoughts have power.
30% or 80% rarely 100% !
Couples may or may not have the same figures.
Which decide their match.
You click or you may not.
You fall in love or you may not.
If opposites attract.
It could be 10% versus 100%!
Try to figure out the math.
If you succeed in getting the right match.
Share the magical formula with everybody else.
Smile your way to the altar.
Stay blessed forever.
7.
Going within,
Takes you on an inner journey.
You cross the physical reality.
Try to rise above your body.
The world no longer exists.
Your mind wanders into abstract images.
Quietness overpowers you.
Stillness touches you.
Formless chants align you with the supreme.
You are not aware of your being.
You are a yogi.
You have left behind the bhogi.
Your blood circulates without any blockages.
There is no impurity in your body.
Mindlessness prevails.
Devil’s workshop doesn’t have a say.
Time has no structure.
You are not aware of any compulsions.
Without tension,
Without time constraints,
Without dead lines,
Without time lines,
You exist in time.
Timelessness.
Flying above your self.
Mindful of nothing but Godliness.
You experience peace.
Without boundaries,
Expanding space,
You are as light as a feather.
Your journey humbles you.
You slowly open your eyes.
Feel recharged to get by.
You feel renewed.
To engage once again in worldly duties.
8.
Double up,
You have to go beyond the ribbon.
Competition is rife.
Keep that in mind.
Dig deep into yourself.
Find the source of your energy.
Your grit, your persistence,
Your enthusiasm,
Your tenacity,
Your discipline,
Your profound faith in God.
Spirited fight against all odds.
All prompt you to win.
Is winning that important?
Why not?
Everybody is chasing a goal.
Outsmart others.
Surviving is difficult.
Technology reigns supreme.
March with the times.
Digitize your life.
‘Online ‘ is today’s form.
Paperless transactions are the norm.
Save trees, save nature.
Go organic,save yourself.
Green city, green initiatives,
All make for a healthy living.
You keep running.
You keep winning.
9.
She sat staring into a versatile sky.
Dark clouds staged a shadow play.
Enacting roles she had essayed.
Her lack of tact limited her life
She had dreams lurking behind.
Power roles or,
Promises of all kinds.
Cellular memories,
Of unhealthy kind,
Shocked her,
Stunned her,
Curtailed her strides.
She emerged from the shadows.
Took a dive.
Dripping,
She donned a new profile.
Daring the world,
She built herself a new life.
10.
I fell down on the floor with a loud thud.
The sound and fury hurt my stump.
The foot had been already amputated.
It had still some vestige of a leg
It hit the tiles with resonance of a drum.
It was soon swollen with a bump.
Black eye was a proud gift by the good old Satan.
The swollen eyebrows made me look like a demon.
A visit to hospital was in order immediately.
I was driven to the emergency quickly.
My much maligned old body had to have
Treatment,
Some ice cubes or cold packs for fomentation.
Some antibiotics and pain killers were needed.
I was kind of laid up or could only sit,
My prosthesis was not taking any blame.
It refused to be used by a bruised dame.
It is ten days since the tsunami hit my body.
No sign as yet of normalcy
Destiny metes out punishment to me
For wrongs I may have done to some geek.
If that is true,
Why not some antidote for my blues?
Hunt for some,
Before I am completely undone.
11.
A woman’s soft voice attracts a man.
Her softly sung lullabies induce a nap.
There is much merit in speaking softly.
For one thing, it sounds sweet.
Even if somebody is angry.
It has a calming effect
